Hello everyone, hope your all keeping safe. My name is Dean and I'm nearly 37 and I'm 6ft 1. I have been dieting for the last 3 weeks and have so far lost 8lbs. Started by lowering my food intake (Trying to find a balance) I was 22st 8lbs, I have recently started walking as of Monday 9th Nov. I am doing 5 miles a day minimum. Getting a minimum of 10,000 steps in a day. Although my eating habits are not perfect I am trying. I eat on a daily basis, 40g of plain Rice krispies(cheap version) with semi skimmed milk for breakfast, big bowl of lettuce, cucumber, grated carrot, sweetcorn, leafy greens, 2 boiled eggs and 1 pack of micro rice or 1 pack of noodles, and chicken and boiled veg for the evening. I use sauce on ny food as I dont like the taste of salad food. Is this sufficient for a decent weekly weight loss? Thanks alot

Same here :') I went to the gym, did some swimming, and eat less than usual, but for 2 weeks there are no change at all in my weight. My friend said that the problem is my eating habits, I am still eating after 5 P.M even though that is my second meal of the day is that really the cause? :') need some advice here

Food eaten after 5 pm does not contain more calories than food eaten at other times and for most people it's perfectly possible to lose weight without fasting most of the day. The more likely explanation is that you're underestimating how much you eat and, overestimating how much you burn at the gym, or (since you've only just started 2 weeks ago) retaining water. Do you weigh/measure what you eat/drink and calculate your calories eaten? Even if you don't want do it long-term it can be enlightening to do it for a week or two just to get an idea where you could easily cut some out without missing them.

Hello, hope your well. Maybe it's what your eating. Even thou I'm eating alot of vegetables there are still alot of carbs in them. I do atleast 10000 steps a day and I've cut calories down to around 1000. And am only losing a 1lb a week. Theres a diary thread on here you could post what you eat there and maybe someone can tweak your food intake.

I make my own vinaigrette with just a little extra virgin olive oil & it’s delicious. I use some balsamic vinegar, some white wine vinegar, seeded mustard, minced or fresh garlic, salt & pepper & only a little olive oil.
If you follow the 800 calorie diet book I would advise adding some extra veg for extra nutrition.
I'm not going to follow the book Cate, told you how to make it, but nothing about portion size. So I'm back to square 1 lol.

I know, that's what I thought. Was very disappointed. Too late now I'm sending it back. Looking at low carb diets now.

I'm glad you're sending that book back. That's just silly not listing portions. Losing a pound a week is still a good thing, Max. The slower you lose the easier it will be to keep it off, in my opinion.

Evening all, been a crazy couple of weeks. Just a little update. A solid loss again for the 3rd week in a row. I have now lost a total of 25lbs. Still doing atleast 10k steps a day. Nothing drastic on calorie intake. Actually had a sausage roll, half a bar of chocolate and 10 cans of Cider last week too, so well happy.

That´s great, congratulations! Awesome that your body finally believes you´re serious about this thing.

Hello LaMaria, hope you are well. Thank you so much, I know theres going to come a time soon where I stay the same or only lose fractionally, but I'm so determined this time. And I actually enjoy salad now whereas before it was just ok.

Enjoying salads/veggies is a LEAP forward. They make such a difference and if you can only eat them by forcefeeding yourself that´s just not sustainable.

I know, I'm still limited to what I enjoy but sticking with lettuce, carrot, spinach leads, sweetcorn and recently fresh beetroot. So it very enjoyable. Which is half the battle

That's not a bad start. Green peas (best from frozen) are often easy on the palate as well. And grilled red or yellow bell pepper becomes soft and sweet, if that's something you like.

Not a lover of peppers, although the small pieces in golden vegetable rice is nice. I absolutely love mushy peas, I do eat garden peas too.

Well done on a solid loss for the 3rd week & 25lbs down. That's excellent.
Thank you Cate, much appreciated, I've still got a long 'weigh' excuse the pun lol to go. But I'm on the right track
