I know you like to get your kids involved with your workouts, and that is fantastic! It's too bad more parents don't do that. I think there would be a lot less overweight kids if they did.

I was checking out the U.S. Gov guidelines for fruit and veggies, and it recommeds getting 2 cups of fruit per day, and 2.5cups of veggies per day. I think that would be a great challenge b/c I know lots of people don't eat enough fruit and veggies on a daily basis. I am sometimes guilty of this. It doesn't even have to be different kinds, just that you get them in..lol. However, I think the veggies would need to be the non-starcy kind. I.e--potatoes and corn are not included in this..lol. And fruit has to be fresh--not canned with sugary syrup or fruit roll ups..lol.

Your idea with the recommended fruit/veggie thing is a good one. I imagine that will be the one that most everyone will go for.
Personally I get almost all of my veggies but not nearly all of the fruit. So would be a good challenge.

Hey, I hope you didn't think I was trashing your idea. I just wanted to point out that for some people in the challenge that would be next to impossible to do. Even though I have a husband who's fairly active, our schedules make it hard to work out together--plus i belong to a women-only gym..lol. :D
 
I think it sounds good, but I am one of those solo people, so I would either be unable to do it or it would be way too easy since I am a family of one. :)

I'm digging the fruits & veggies idea.
 
Well, that wouldn't be fair to those who don't have family nearby. Not everyone has children at home with them, or spouses, etc. Lot's of people live alone.

I like the idea of eating the daily recommended amounts of fruit and veggies. What is it? 5 servings a day? Do not make me give up TV just after I got expanded cable and all the new fall episodes are coming out..lol. Please, I beg of you!! haha.

You could always have it a family/friend/co-worker challenge. Because I'm sure everyone of us has someone we know that could use some encouragement. :)

see lol!GL Tammy and Ty they were ALL GREAT IDEALS BELLA I loved your ideal to because I try to get my kids involved in taking walks with me especially my oldest since she isn't invloved with any school or afterschool activities,but I do see how some wouldn't be able to particiapte but maybe we can still add that to our personal challange,Tammy:)
