Guess how much??

How much do you think this will cost to fix? Come on it will be fun! Whoever gets it right wins a prize!

P.S. Yes, I know you can see my plate number....so please track me down and kill me.

Hmm, prolly about 5 times what that car is worth. Wait, didn't you just drop a G or so to fix the tranny?

My guess is that it's a total loss given it was hit in the front and may have engine damage.

Did you make it out ok?

Well, I drove it home 20 miles believe it or not. It sounded and felt just as good as before...just hard to see over the hood.

Yes, me and the lady I hit are fine and that is what is truely important.

Sweet, so it will only cost like a few hundred....lol.

Hahaha, I know all about having a car worth $100. I couldn't have sold my old truck to a bum.

Yes...hence the invitation to kill me.

Ouch, that's a real bummer. I replaced all the brake lines and rear drums on my truck, then the following week the alternator died. Luckily, mine was only $150 since it was just parts and free labor provided by myself. Still sucks to waste money...

that was my next question. are you alright, and did it happen from the nasty weather we've been getting lately?

Yes, my own stupid fault for not checking the forecast. On the way to the barn the roads were fine...it was sleeting but it was warm enough for the roads to just be wet...not icey at all. I didn't really give much thought to it but I ended up staying much later at the barn than I thought. Once I got out I saw it had started snowing (it stopped raining when I reached the barn) and found myself ****ed since the roads in that area aren't plowed well given the farmland area.

About 4 miles away from the barn I was coming down a side street to a red light at about 25 mph I hit my brakes and nothing at all happened. I pumped my brakes and nothing continued to happen. I quickly scanned and had to choose if I could go right or left of her car. I choose right since there were no other cars around. I turned my wheel and NOTHING HAPPEN! My car just kept sliding straight and BAM right into her car.

Later on she told me she saw me coming in her rearview and tried to move but her tires spun on the ice. Poor lady. I'm sure I scared the hell out of her.

She called the cops and they called a towtruck for me. After some bs with my car keys I ended up having the towtruck only tow me like 4 miles down. It was like 2 hours later and the roads were infinately clearer now and no longer snowing. I drove the rest of the way home at 25 mph. Took me forever. I wish I had left the barn that late. Probably would've been alright.

I had a perfect record before this :(

I'll say $2,500 to fix it all.

Yeah, stupid amount...but I had a minor dent in a rear quarter panel on a white chevy beretta. The beretta NEVER changed its body style, so even if i Needed a new quarter panel vs. repairing the dented panel, it should be cheap, right?

Nay. $1,000 was the estimate, 3 days of work to repair, repaint an clear coat it. a white OEM quarter panel was $350, but the labor is the killer.

Should we include the amount we'll all be shelling out to bail out the American auto industry?:(

Glad to hear you're ok Calcium. It's probably time to start looking at a new car. now that the integrity of the frame is damaged she will never be the same again.

Haha, funny poster thing FF...but it would appear just Chrysler and GM are tapping into the billions...Ford can survive on it's own, way to go Ford! At least for the first quarter of 09.

That picture is hilarious!

Yup, took her to the shop. No hope...dude told me so. I'm getting another car and selling her for her awesome parts and rebuilt tranny.

I say $80. Here is how. If you think it runs fine, change the radiator and get a hammer and smash the hood down so you can see again. If the engine runs fine than GREAT. The engine looks in tact though so it might work with some elbow grease. Hey, it's already a junk car, no need to fix it to match the paint (LoL). You can pig lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig!!!
