Now see this is where it gets tough!
I dont want to be a pain in the @ss but I also REALY REALY REALY just want to eat my own food and NOT EAT RESTAURANT FOOD!!!:ack2: AAAAAWWWHHHH!

IM SO CLOSE TO MY 4WEEKS WEIGH-IN AND DONT WANT TO SPOIL IT BY TRYING TO MAKE OTHER FEEL LESS UNCOMFORTABLE BY ME NOT WANTING TO EAT-OUT!!!!!!

Im trying to think of an excuse-- what am I going to do! I dont want to go and try and match a 100g of meat with veg! :reddevil:

Im very upset-- AND it seems like Im going to have a horrible evening looking at how others eat and being tormented by the M-in-L! aaarrrrrrhhhgggg!!! NOOOOOOOO!

Filp man! Im perfectly happy doing my own thing (Cohen) I dont know why it is so difficult for others just to accept it and leave me in peace for a while!

Hi Starfish!

Awwww friendy, you have every right to feel mad. People can't just force you to eat anything - so stick to that.
Here's my recommendation:
Let your bf be your wingman. Take some crackers and a fruit with you for if you feel like eating something while they are eating. If someone asks why you're not eating restaurant food, tell them that you're on a prescribed eating plan from a doctor and that you would not really like to talk about it tonight. Let your bf back you on this. It is true afterall! Lol. I don't think they'll bug you much after that. If they do, answer them with another polite question. Like, "and why do you eat what you eat?" and then smile friendly or wink. Or you could just suck it up and take all of the blows tonight so that it's over. Don't let them ruin your evening. Remind them that the focus should be on the graduate - not your eating habits.
Drink your Tab and enjoy yourself..you deserve it :)
And don't worry! It gets easier everytime ;)

Hi Starfish, I hope you don't mind me hijacking your diary. I read about your dilemma in luvbugs diary, and came here to see what advice you've been given, because I had the same problem yesterday, and I was not happy. But it's even more of a difficulty for you, because as you said, you're so close to weigh in.
Luvbugs advice is excellent. I used to do pretty much the same thing, and I also said that I was learning which foods I could tolerate, and which foods I cant. Once people realize you are serious, and nothing will sway you, they wont pressure you. But if like me, this time around, you are indecisive, they will reason they can get you to give in, and wont let up.
Hang in there. I wish I'd had a BF with me yesterday to help me. I hate going into the whole spiel about how you have to do this 100% otherwise it doesn't work. Then they look at you and say whatever it is they are offering is a healthy version, and low fat etc etc, then I think "did you not hear a word I said". It gets easier as you go along.
I really hope you were able to do what you wanted and were left feeling proud of yourself, and uncomprimised.
 
Starfish- You are doing what you are doing to be healthy & slim. I just don't get why people want you to eat what they eat. You are so strong & so happy being on Cohen's . Don't let anyone stand in your way. If you feel that you may be tempted to deviate don't go. If you feel strong & determined & want to go then go. I would sometimes eat in the car just before I went inside so that I was not hungry & then nibble on my crackers(broken up into small pieces) in the restaurant. Sometimes I would have a mandarin in segments in a zip-lock bag in my handbag as well or have an apple for the drive home. I know that you are strong. I know you can do it. If you don't want to go don't go. If they don't like it tough. Explain to your MIL sometime when no-one else is about why you are doing this & how much support you are getting from your bf. If she doesn't like it it's her problem. She should be proud of you. I would be. Cheers, Cate.

GUESS WHAT-- I didnt go :) I stayed home and ate my foodies! YAY! Happy and content ! My Bf wasnt back by 9pm last night and by the time he phoned me to go, Ive already been snoozing on the couch!

I also worked up a headache and by that time and I have the begining feelings of flue with my throat on fire :(

But I managed to get out of this one fairly easily! My bf just went on his own! YAY! (which I think should've been the solution in the first place)

I cant say how relieved I am! I Just left it-- I wouldve protested anyways, had it come sooner in the eve!

So survived this one un-harmed lol! Next up In my mom home cooking! But my mom is so supportive that I dont see much trouble ahead-- she will prob help me with some new recipes too! Such a wonderful person! :)

I hope I dont get sick now-- not in the mood for flue-- I wouldnt be surprised though-- the house is full of germs with the bf sick and all aaahhhhhhhh!

I will celebrate with them some other time--its not like the child is finished studying and another graduation will come soon! Shoe, thank God for second chances! LOL!

It's also a nice time to experiment with some soup recipes, esp chicken soup hehe.

Next time when you do need to go to the restaurant, you can always come back and use the great tips that you got ;)
But it really does get easier everytime. I'm kind of immune to things like "are you on a diet AGAIN?"

"but you don't' need a diet - you're not fat!"
Blah blah..

Man, I know that there are gong to be more and more situations with restuarants! Its just not great when they catch u off guard! I have to agree with you that it definitely gets easier, the more you do it!! I still however try to minimize my exposure to temptation! LOL and the way I do that is by staying away from temptation hotspots! lol!

Re the purple on the nail:
I just put on lots of translucent cutex on my nail before I went to vote -- and afterwards I just got rid of it with cutex remover lol :D
Maybe you could try cutex remover? It might work a bit :)
Otherwize, paint over it with black -- it's stylish for winter! :D
Or just flaunt your nail! It shows that you had the guts to go and vote -- which owes you medal anyway ;)

Ahhhhh, last night my bf and I went to watch "confessions of a shopaholic" at the cinema. I loved the movie, but now he wants to take my credit card LOL :smilielol5:

Hi Starfish. Good decision not going! I'm sorry you have the flue. I think I'm going out in sympathy. I have had a headache for about a week but the last few mornings I have also had a glued up eye & both eyes are stinging so I'm off to the doctor at 11 this morning probably for a dose of anti-biotics & eye ointment. I haven't had conjunctivitis since I was a little tacker. Hope we're both better soon! xoxo Cate
 
Hi ALL!!!

Ive been off work for 2 days due to the flu getting me down! Feeling better today and back to the grinding stone! Although tomorrow is another public holiday again WHHHHOO HOOO!

Im going to do my 4 weeks blood test just now now and my weigh-in is next tuesday! SO yay!

Feeling great despite the flu! Have lost a few more kg but not weighing to much-- want to keep a bit of a surprise for tuesday!

We going camping tomorrow for the weeknd! A bit nervous-- Im going to try and stick 100% but usualy I am a bit more peckish-- I think Im just going to take extra crackers again! During these couple of days at home-- I ve had a few more crackers than what I am suppose to OOPS -- but still sticking 100% otherwise and havint eaten a single thing not Cohens for 4 weeks straight!

When I had a sneak weigh-in on Monday-- its said 74kg-- therefor I have lost 8kg in 4weeks!! SHHHHOOOOEEEESSSSSHHH dont say a thing-- I want to only change my ticker on tuesday! YAY!

I will catch-up on some of the posts!

Sounds like you are going great, Starfish! Well done for losing around 8 kg. You might have been a bit peckish because after being a bit sick, our think our bodies start screaming out for food to get them healthy again. That's what happened to me after stomach upset a couple of weeks back.

Well I hope its 8kg I will be OVER THE MOON! I can already fit into some of my favorite pants that I have flung into the depths of my cubboards long time ago! Its so nice! Went to go buy some new work tops yesterday! I LOVE IT!

Over the weekend whilist I was so sick-- I cleaned out some of my things and found a diary entry in one of my books-- i said there how inhappy I was at 75kg and how fat and unatractivce I felt- on that page I also decribed all the things i plan to do to loose it! Needless to say I didnt loose anything and picked up another 8 kg after that to ±82kg -- Now Im back to ± 75kg AND IM OVER THE MOON! lol Strange how ones pereception changes!

Ye somedays I dont even eat my cracker alloance and somedays I can eat the whole packet! i try not to eat anything not Cohens so I just stick with the cracker if i feel like over eating! I hope im not doing to much harm :( Its tough somedays esp in the cold!

Chill out by all means Starfish, but the minute you deviate you are setting yourself up for failure & I feel that you really do not want to fail. Your enthusiasm has been wonderful & I'm sure has inspired others to be 100%. Once you deviate once then what will stop you next occasion & the one after. Where's that girl that didn't go out to that dinner & felt so good? Think of the long term, rather than the short term. This is about learning that you do not need alcohol to have a good time. You do not need white bread or pizza. You do not need crap food. You deserve to be slim & healthy & positive. Think hard about this. What do you want the most? xoxo Cate

I feel bad now even considering it! I have done my planning and have packed my meals and made sure I have everything I need to keep on track!

But ye still a bit undecided about the drink! Its so hard :banghead: and i know that you are right! I dont need alcohol to have a good time and I have proven to myself that its true!

So do you guys think I deviated? Well- I DIDNT! whoooohoooooooooo! NO DEVIATIONS AND MY 4 WEEKS WEIGH-IN IS TOMORROW!

I tell you the temptation was huge-- but I put it of and before I knew it I didnt want it, I didnt even notice and then we went home! I have to say the weekend was very exhausting and today Im not feeling to great! I suppose its what you get for having so many off days! eeeeeeekk A LONG MONTH OF WORKING AHEAD! aaagggrrrhh! I did however eat more crackers LOL Thats my little savety net!

Well, I kept off the scales-- want to get the final amout tomorrow with my consultant! SO yay!

4 weeks and 4 days into Cohen and I am as happy as can be with my progress so far! I couldnt be more satisfied! (yes ±8kg) I have to say that it doesnt feel like I lost so much! I couldnat have dreamed about this much in one month and if someone told me before that I will lose 8kg in one month, I wouldve thought its a joke! BUT ITS NOT! Its true! Over the weekend I saw people that I I havent seen for a while-- all said to me-- you are allot thinner than what I last saw you! WOW! yippppeeee its one of the best compliments ever! Im stoked! Im also glad that I could keep off the booze~! :cheers2:Im a very social drinker-- but Im learning that being sober isnt so bad afterall! ESP the next day!

Im looking forward to the next 4 weeks and going to try and firm-up these few weeks! Going to try and hit the gym regularly, after the flue it takes a while to get your strenght back!

Like Luvbug said! Its like a lifestyle now and I dont find it hard at all! Im teaching myself new found control over certain things (like eating) :hurray:

Luvbug Im so excited for you-- you will be getting a huge surprise on the
9th! If you dont disapear by then! Lol!

One thing also-- my mom is joining-- I convinced her over the weekend to do it and she will be joining soon!

YES Im happy! i wouldve felt very ashamed if I had to come and report that I had deviated over the weekend! I realy didnt want too! Its hard changing habits man! Its one of the most chalenging things! WOW and self control is a self taught skill! No one can help you with that! I did keep you in mind over the weekend, I wanted to come tell you that I didnt deviate! YAY! Your reply makes me very happy ! Thank you for your encouragement and also for reminding me the benifits of staying 100% on Cohens!

I have noticed that i do very well in a controled environment- like at work- there is no temptations! When Im at home Im a bit more prone to eat crackers!

Im looling forward to tomorrow and I think my consultant will be amazed!

I havnt had time Cate, but I swiftly I past by your diary-- you are under a bit of stress there lady! Hang in there I hope all the problems get resolved! its very stressfull! KEEP US POSTED!
