I've heard so much about green tea being good for you. Does anyone know why its so good for you and has anyone seen any results after drinking it?? I hate hot drinks, but maybe i'll make myself drink it if i think it will help.

Green tea is full of antioxidents, calorie free and contains something that boosts your metabolism. Its a taste that you get use to, add a tiny bit of honey to sweeten if its too bitter, not too much though or it will over power the tea and make it taste horrible. Four to six cups a day is recommended.

I know, your right, i don't care for any hot drinks, and if an aquired taste is needed, I don't think I'll try it..besides that 4 to 6 cups a day is alot!

Green Tea in pill form

Hi - I use the green tea in pill form and they work just as well. I buy a multivitamin that includes green tea.

i just read in our local newspaper about a new type of green tea called Malta (i think the spelling is right -- i can't find the paper right now??). It contains 70% more antioxidants than OJ and 90% more betacarotine then a standard meal of spinish ... and, it's supposed to keep you going for 8 hours.

I take One a Day Weight Smart Multi Vitamin and it contains 27 mg of Green Tea Extract. I hate hot tea and this is a great way for me to actually get it in my system. I do notice when I take it that I feel better, I have more energy and my appetite isn't as crazy from when I forget to take it. If you're looking to get it, it's in a green/jade color box in the Vitamin aisle. I also recently read that One A Day is one of the best multivitamin's on the market. You will also get most of your other daily req. for vitamins.

Just to let you guys know that if you make green tea like regular ice tea
and use splenda to sweeten it, it tastes really good. A little bit different from
regular iced tea but everyone I let try my sweetened iced green tea really
liked it (including my husband and he never likes anything). I heard you are suppossed to drink it after every meal and whenever you are hungry or get a craving.

Green tea?

Wasn't sure where to post this. :)

I have read that green tea is supposed to be a good boost for metabolism and helps with weight loss. Has anyone had success with this? Or used it with no effect?

Thanks! :D

Julie,
What supplement do you take? Most of the ones that I have seen don't have enough green tea extract in them to really help anyway. That's why I was thinking about drinking green tea instead but then I read that you had to drink a lot to derive any benefits.

NewBride, Thanks for the link to the other thread.

Ohh green tea! I love green tea. Admitially the colour does look like something that could come out of your nose.. but it doesnt taste too bad. Quite nice to drink a hot mug of it when you come in from the cold.. Quite a relaxing drink i think. :)

I was taking Blast energy supplement from the makers of Ballys Total Fitness and it has green tea and Grapefruit in it. Suppose to be real good!!!

energy supliment? ohh sounds interesting. Green tea is meant to be good for your bowels too.. generally a good drink i think. :D

might find out if i can drink it or not.. been a while since i have had green tea.

I have never tried green tea as in drinking it, just tried it in my supplements. Dont even know where they sell it, if they dont sell it at Walmart I cant get any...LOL.

If I recall green tea has antioxidants(fights blood clots) in it, and destroys bad bacteria, which aids in the prevention of tooth decay. It also has less caffiene than coffee.

I dont drink enough of it, and should for sure. It doesnt taste bad at all!

It affects the whiteness of your teeth though, doesn't it?

I don't know anything about tea, only ever had one cup :)
