Got an iPhone

I'm waiting for the google phone to come. Its already set up to be sold. I don't remember which brand is going to be selling phones with the Google OS, though.

It is said to have touch screen capabilities and all that good stuff...

^^^^^ I don't know man. I have had a few blackberries and had to help others with theirs. They did nothing but tick me off.

I haven not seen anything that is easier to use.

i prefer verizon over att, or cingular, or whatever they are switching their name to these days

It is amazing the different experiences people have. I just thought verizon was a rip off company with crappy service.

Does the iPhone 3G have less features or something? why is it cheaper?

The 3G is more expensive than the original. (original is 199 - 3G is 399) I do not know what the biggest difference aside from everyone I know who has the older version wants to get the new one.

So, you would say definitely worth the money then?

I agree with evo. if you are going to use all the features then it is worth it. If not, probably not. I do a lot of stuff for work with it and it has been a very good thing. So I think it is worth it.

The monthly cost is higher, think $30 on top of your regular plan for the data plan.

All in all it is a pretty cool thing to have around.

Internet speed is the biggest upgrade with the 3g.

if you live in a large metropolitan area or right next door to a cell tower with 3G abilities. if you live on the outskirts then staying on edge is the way to go. nothing worse then dropped calls as the phone tried to switch to edge from 3g cause you just barely have enough signal to be using 3g.

i really wanted one until i tried texting on one and failed miserably. i kept missing the keys and hitting the wrong ones. i don't know how people manage it, but it was enough to make me change my mind. i text a lot.

have you had trouble w texting?

it takes some getting used to before you can text competently w/o mesing up. I still do. Only complaint would be that the iphones learning dictionary takes a while to learn words I use and often tries to replace them even though I have already "taught" it the word is acceptable.

This is the first time I have texted. Have had no trouble.

(I never texted on my old phone because it was a regular phone with 3 letters per number. Texting is just stupid that way. I just called people)

Google is not coming out with a phone. They are developing an open source Mobile Phone Operating System.

It looks like any company will be able to make Google phones and any carrier can offer a google phone as long as the word google is on the phone.

Does it do that of its own or is that because the buttons get pressed by accident?
When mine goes mental you can just put it down on the table and watch it sort through the settings and files and stuff before calling my mum. I think it’s haunted by the spirit (or internal spirit as Chillen would say) of Kit

If yours takes pictures completely unaided then I want an upgrade to one of those when my contact’s up

Both. I think the button on the side was pressed in too hard at one time. It takes friggin photos all day long which kills the battery. But the wierd thing was I left it charging in the kitchen at night and I had 20 pictures of the coffee maker come morning. I have a new phone on the way from Verizin today though ... some hopefully that stops. If it doesnt I will be creeped out.

I definitely think it's worth it. There is definitely an array of competition out there though, but nothing can quite rival the App store in terms of being able to customize your phone for free.

I can understand why people like the iPhone. But honestly I just want my phone to make calls. A camera is nice for that picture that your friends "just wont believe". But that screen on the iPhone would be destoyed within days if I got a hold of it.
