Getting there, I will get there....

HEY! Welcome back CBWILL! I am glad you are posting to your journal again, man!

Wish you the best of luck in what you are setting out to do, young man!

Best regards,

Chillen

keep it up, cb.

Do you have your new bike yet?

kool glad to hear your back, i dunno if u remember me lol, i got a new bike last year, i love biking, im gonna start going for long bike rides again soon, aperently theres a storm here the weekend coming, so i think it will have to be next week.
I will have to get a pic of my bike, but it dont look that nice as i put a load of tape on it, so it dont look new, so no one would wanna steal it haha

The bike came in a day earlier :), the only bummer is I do not have time to go riding until Sat.

It looks great, I actually went with the black/yellow frame instead of the sliver/black.

And hello Jackie, how could I forget you and the oat bars :p.

First ride with the new wheels.

20 miles, 1 hour 18 mins.

The bike felt better than I did, it rode very nice, I will still have a few adjustments to my riding style (not much but some).
It felt like it was easier on the inclines (can't really call them climbs :p).

So, how many miles do you have on that bike so far? If you wanna ride the Strawberry Century (you can also do 20, 38, 62 and 100 miles), I will be manning the first break station. I think you can still show up and register on the spot.

Only have 40 so far, rode yesterday morning 20 miles in 1:15 (I'm having a shoe problem or something, my big toe and the next two on my left foot went completely numb).

The Strawberry Century would fun (one of the shorter dist), but a no go for me today. I will have to look into future rides. I was doing my voluntary gig yesterday at the antique boat show (selling beer for 6 hours, and standing the whole time was hell on my knee) the money went to rotary and the local chamber of commerce.

My plan is to get in more riding in during the week.

Road/bike trail - Monday and Wednesday evenings, Saturday and possible Sun. Mornings

Off rode/mtn bike - Friday afternoon

Do you have new bike shoes? That used to happen to me until I changed the position on my clips.

Yes I have new road shoes, I have moved the cleat (crank bros) forward back and what little I can side to side. I also tried different pedals (shimano Ultegra pd-6620, spd-sl). Having the cleat pushed all the way to the toes seemed to help a little.

But I am thinking it may the shoe, for the next ride (this afternoon if the weather holds) I going to use my mtb shoes and crank bros. and see what happens.

I have had foot problems before, and continue to. I may have to keep trying different shoes.

Also if I continue to have the same problem, saddle and position (current position is comfortable) of saddle will be next.

and Sparrow, I saw the pic of your bike. sweet

Rode another 20 miles this morning (15.5 mph, max 28.8 mph, also had a nice head wind on the second half).

I think I may have numbness issue taken care of, it was a shoe problem.
I used use my mtb shoes and adjusted cleat location a couple of time, much better.

I also used a heart monitor for the first time (Avg. HR 150, Max HR 171 which is close to my recommend Max HR 178-180) and it said 1289 kcal burned (??).

I need to work on my cardiovascular system, in other words keep riding and do it more often.

Same ride as yesterday, the numbers were even the same.

Only thing new is I learned is that I would rather take a fall riding single track than taking one on the rode bike, asphalt hurts .

2.5 miles from home and had a lapse of thought process and rode off the edge of pavement and for some reason I tried to get ride the bike onto the pavement like I on my mtn bike. On good thing is no one saw it :D

Heya CBWill, HOws it going??? i got my bike out last weekend, n went for a bike ride for about 45mins. Biking moderatly all the way, n climbed a couple of hills, it was good.

been a while, I no longer have the net at home and it has not been the best time to get online at work (hours for everyone have been cut, this was after 30% of the office staff was laid off).

g8r80, the bike is great, only I haven't ridden as much as would like.
turns out I cracked my knee cap when I took that fall. no fun.

Jackie, sorry no progress to take pics of, guess I could take some of my regress :)

But while I did have the extra free time at home I decided to build a raised vegetable garden, a little late for planting but I am using shade cloth and micro misting irrigation.

for the seedlings I plant the seeds 5-28, and the plants (basil, tomato and pepper) I transplanted most on 5-26.

I wait and see how things go over the summer, and start listing what I want to plant in the fall.

Broken knee cap - ugh!

Hey, post more often...
