Sorry to hear about your father's health condition. I would suggest trading those malts for health shakes like Ensure or Boost with protein. When I had my tonsils out a couple years ago, I discovered watermelon felt good on my throat. It didn't burn like other fruits, and the coldness was soothing. That might give him a little variety. Just make sure he's getting his vitamins, proteins, and carbs, he needs to maintain his strength!

Yeah. I went from 198 down to about 189-191. I'm trying to get past it but it's really discouraging me.

Be patient - weight loss isn't linear. Just keep creating the right conditions for weight loss and it will happen eventually.

Thanks for the advice. The VA is trying to get him on optifast seeing as though he can't eat solids.

I have to keep reminding myself of this. Remember back in 07 when I went from 200 down to 160?? That took 3.5 months. The thing is, I wasn't thinking about it. I was throwing myself into my work, and I wasn't snacking. My food of choice was usually subway, and then when I got home around seven, I'd have something small. I was taking in less than 1500 calories per day, plus running around at work. Blockbuster is pretty physical. Most of the barriers that I run into these days are mental.

Wednesday:
10AM: two tacos 400cals
4PM: Mashed Potatoes and ground beef
9PM: quaker chewy bar [choc. chip] 100 cals
Handful of sunchips

Thursday:
12pm: chicken breast w/o skin 140 cals
Corn on the cob 140 cals
butter 50 cals
4pm: Potatoes and ground beef
1tbsp pb
6pm: one slice pep pizza 250 cals
9pm: ham sandwich w/ half the bread
11pm: two tacos
one bean and cheese burrito


yeah..i ate way too much

Friday

I took my best friend out for her birthday today. we got our nails done and then we went to eat at this mexican place. we shared a meal that came with two tacos, chicken enchilada, rice and beans. also had chips and bean dip; then went to wal mart. i bought two pairs of shorts; one in a juniors size 15 and the other in a women ten. neither of which fit yet, but that will soon change.
i also bought some crystal lite popcicles :D they're amazing
and chicken, cheese, and wheat bread.

I've been behaving. staying within my calorie range, and now instead of ranging between 190-198, my range has gone down to 182-185,

they said I've lost four pounds since my last visit..which was like 2.5 weeks ago. =]

What's up with you girl? I've only read the last few posts but there seems to be a different attitude from you. Your mindset seems to have totally changed in a very good way. Keep it up! Thinking the way you are, no one can stop you!

I went away for a while, but I'm back. For a while, I was eating only once per day and allowing the junk that I know is bad for my body. The result? I felt like complete ****ing ass every single day. so I said enough with that. This weekend I went to the store and got some protein powder, frozen fruits and turkey burgers; decided I should eat healthy again. If for nothing else, to give me energy and avoid stomach aches.
I'm still the same weight as I was when I left. Haven't lost, or gained. Steady at 185 pounds. Maybe not the best, but lower than my heaviest, which was 198.
Also, i was browsing the interwebs, and found the most disgusting thing I have ever seen.
It's called the "doble down" and is a "test sanwich" from KFC. It's not everywhere yet, and I honestly hope that it fails. Basically, her's what it is. Two fried chicken patties, which act as bread; in between said patties is bacon and pepperjack cheese. Here's a photo for your regurgitating pleasure: .
Pretty gross right?
I also found this website thisiswhyyourfat.com. I use it whenever I feel like eating greasy food. It's basically a compilation of all things disgusting including Kfc's double down and things like "ice cream donut cake". Totally turns me off from anything greasy.

That has to be a hoax! Their profit margin would nose dive if they took away the filling but amazingly cheap stale bun and added another chicken fillet

I don't have one just yet, but am getting ready to write one out in my paper journal. I will be sure to post it here, and as always I am open to suggestions :) If I just stayed away from the fast food joints and the school cafeteria, I think I'd be in good shape; at least as a start. So that's my first goal. Make EVERYTHING from home. Aside from the occasional steak house meal with my Dad. At least there's some nutrition in that. :)
 
You know what sucks? MIGRAINES! I've had one all day. Grrr.
