Hi there and welcome to the forum, glad to have you join us :D

As Angel said above, you will not regret deciding to start with the cohens program. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself and however many ups and downs I had with the program, I will never ever regret a day that I stuck with it and got to the end. This program has helped me to re-gain my confidence and inspired me to continue living a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life.

I look forward to reading your journey!!!

Welcome Geo! I'm also a teacher..so I understand what you mean when you say they drain you! Believe me- i know! Which grades and subjects do you teach?
As the ladies mentioned above, if you stick to it one hundred percent, you won't look back! Promise you! Welcome again :D xx

Were all in this together and if you have any questions feel free to ask, were all only a message away. I know that being on this forum has really helped me to achieve my goals and has propelled me to stay commited to the plan.
It's not always an easy journey to take but is 120% worth it. Your going to loose weight like never before and feel so inspired!

All the best and goodluck

Welcome Geo! As you can see we are a friendly, supportive group of people who have all chosen Cohen's as our lifestyle change. You have made an excellent decision. I think it's a good idea to keep quiet about the specifics of the program to deter the saboteurs. Saying that you are deciding to eat healthier is a good option I think as it's vague & shouldn't be something that can be argued against. I am so glad that you started a diary & decided to join us. Sharing your feelings as you go can be quite insightful. Once again a very big welcome geo! Cheers, cate.

Welcome welcome Geo!!!! :grouphug: it's all the better for having you :)

You've made a great decision, let's toast to all the weight you're going to lose :beerchug: (contents: Water)

Welcome geo! Happy to see a new face around the forums! :) Starting my diary has been immensely helpful for my own Cohen journey, and I hope you would find it too.

Looking forward to your entries!

hey all..feeling a little under the weather today...see i haven't had coffee for the last 3 days...this morning, I felt like have a cup and so i did...been having a bad headache since that one cup....read that usually people have headaches when they are weaning themselves off caffiene....has anyone encountered this? or am i jus stressed out?

Hey geo, I don't drink coffee but I read that for a lot of people - the initial period is pretty rough. Headaches, etc.. Hang in there! Drink your water, eat your meals, it would eventually get better. I promise. :)

p/s I thought you can have coffee? Just not with milk or sugar? :) Have you tried tea to help wean yourself off?

Hi Geo, Your body is still detoxing (throwing a hissy fit!) and it will get better soon & the headaches will pass. I didn't give up caffeine on Cohen's but just limited it to one in the morning (still do). Do you like herbal teas? I love peppermint & also jasmine tea. You'll feel better soon I promise too! :D Just try to take it as easy as you can. Cheers Cate

hey dietgrrl & cate, yea i decided not to be too nasty and cut out the caffiene...shall have a black coffee once a day...hmm peppermint tea...i love peppermint tea...shall stock up on that one and jasmine tea (haven't tried that tho), cate...thanks!

i'm going in for my blood test tmr morning...i know i've got to fast but just wondering, i take evening primrose supplements as my period's irregular n that seems to help me...so should i consume the supplement tonite?

You should only fast from 10 at night so can't see any reason why not.

Good luck with the tests and you will be starting your very own plan soon :)

Hey all! Good day...wasn't able to post much over the weekend coz i was really busy...had some friends down from melbourne and my folks went to perth for a holiday...anways, sat morning blood test didn't work...i overslept as i sent my folks to the airport for their 1am flight...finally went to the clinic this morning....the nurse at the clinic was awesome...i'm afraid of needles and this woman just made it feel like an ant bite...alot of nurses say that but boy, the make the blood test a nightmare for me...this nurse was great....anyways, how long is it before dr. cohen gets back to you? any idea? i can't wait to get started...

Hiya!

Once your blood tests results are in, your plan doesn't take long at all to be ready to be picked up. I think mine was ready in 2-3 days. So if you're lucky, you could have it by the end of the week and be starting next week! Fingers crossed.

Wont be far away! yay!

Hey MissKris,
couldn't bear with the excitement, called the clinic...consultant says the results were in yesterday itself....i've got to wait 5-6 working days before she hands over the plan to me... well i'lll just use this time to inspire me (and "enjoy")....it's st paddy's tmr! last one ya...

Hi Geo, I remember being so excited about getting my plan. Just answering a couple of your questions-
You should not have to pay any more money for your re-feed unless you go past your contract time to finish. That can sometimes be negotiable. I doubt it would be a problem unless you deviate from the program & take longer to finish it. It also includes maintenance guidelines. I continued to get monthly emails from my consultant until their clinic closed 2.5 years later.
Prices can vary from clinic to clinic depending, I think, on the level of support you get. In the US it's internet based but in Australia we have consultants that we can see regularly, depending on how far away they are.

I look forward to you starting. Get yourself well prepared before you actually start with a good non-stick fry-pan, some olive-oil spray, a good set of kitchen scales (with a spare battery- very important) a measuring tape, & some good digital bathroom scales. It would be best to only weigh every 4 weeks but to measure every week.
Use the time before getting your plan to tidy your pantry cupboard & give away any foods that may tempt you. You probably will want to taste some of them before they go but remember the more you gain, the more you have to lose. If there is one thing that you think you will really struggle to do without eat some. You will probably change your tastes forever. When you are on the program it's best to remember that everything will be available to eat when you're finished & my motto used to be-
Nothing tastes as good as slim will feel!
Ask any questions you like when you get your program. If it's not on the program you can't have it. Never be afraid to ask your clinic anything. Don't worry if it sounds silly. Messing it up accidentally, would be worse. Cheers, Cate
