Hey FF, unless I don't finish the swim or have serious mechanical difficulties on the bike, we will end on foot...

Yesterday: 39 miles on trainer. 2 hours. 16 days to go.

Dang, I'm a wuss. I'll be 40 tomorrow and you old farts are sticking it to me. No Worries. I'm finally back in the swing of things. I'm in the process of closing on my house, moving, working etc but I'm still managing to work in my workouts. You two keep it up. Maybe I can make a road trip by the end of the summer and do some biking with you. I've got a long way to go before I can touch you guys but hey, I've got a lot of free time now to do training rides with the local bike shop. Keep up the good work!

9 mile run--- ran 9:08 on accident.... was supposed to bne RPE 2-3.

Can't wait to see you again Rich!

heheheheh

OH--- and BTW-- my new job is demolition and construction, so I am in full body workout mode all day!

Think I may even run the 4 miles to job site tomorrow.....

LOL!!

just kidding--- about running to jhob site...

here is some real advice G8r!!!

AT this point there is only ONE RISK!!! - OVERTRAINING!!!

RECOVER and TAPER now! leave the horses in the stable, no sugar, no alcohol, drink water, stretch, and take your melatonin adn magnesium at night!

Stay controlled and smart....

Negative split each portion of the race

and Have Fun!

truly,
FF

Thanks Todd! I may do 66 miles of the Strawberry Century on Sunday with time trial bike to see what it is like to be aero for 3+ hours.

Thursday was a travel day - a total washout. Yesterday, I didn't get to the YMCA until late and the pool was closed. Worked on weights instead.

I am gonna do the 38 miler tomorrow for the Strawberry Century and run a sag vehicle afterwards.

Weather for the April 5 Gator Half is predicting to have a very high UV index of 10. I definitely need to remember sunscreen. Also, there will be typical Florida thunderstorms. Other than trying not to fall and break a hip (or a collarbone like you know who), is there anything I should think about or plan for in the rain?

Now the real question is... did you photoshop those in or did you actually bring up those sites. I'm guessing the former since there aren't any popup ads. Not that I'd know about those popping up when you go to porn sites.

Did the 38 mile loop, averaging just under 19mph with a negative split; 18.2 for first half (I was socializing and riding with some slower folks) then after flatting at the halfway point, I averaged 19.6 for second half. I had someone grabbing my wheel and eventually falling off for the entire second half which was pretty cool. I think they would have been quite surprised if they had known they were trying to hang onto the wheel of a 50yo 2-time cardiac dude.;) I stayed on aero bars almost the entire time, although I think I will raise the bars a cm or two to alleviate some late back and neck soreness. I was gonna ride the FSA carbon wheels but I couldn't get the cf disk pads, which was just as well as it rained almost the entire time. Real ugly.

Afterwards, I sagged and drove the 62 mile route looking for mechanical breakdowns and those who had had enough, but I didn't find either.

Very nice!

Final week... stay calm... stick to the plan... and don't forget to hydrate.
