I was always heavy, even if i was really active. Then i did a serious liver detox and worked out a lot and dieted, and i lost 80 pounds and i was down to 139 and very muscular, and my friends said i looked perfect and if i lost more weight i would look bad. I was doing really well, having reached my ideal weight and then i had a baby and i put on 50 pounds while i was pregnant, although i never really even looked pregnant or even out of shape for some reason. Then after i had the baby, i put on 30 more. over 220 pounds! i have been desparately trying to lose it since the beginning of May. I did a liver detox, did an extreme low calorie diet, have tried a diet around 1200 calories a day, tried mixing up my calorie intake day to day... and i have been exercising an average of 2 hours a day - and i am talking strenuous exercise at the gym -- mostly cardio and also i do a complete circuit of the nautilis matchines. I always go at least 3 times a week, sometimes 6 times a week, plus i go for 3 miles walks a few times a week, and where i live has very steep hills plus i am pushing a 2 year old in an all terrain stroller. With the cardio, i try to keep in my weight loss heart rate zone, which is about 133 to 141 for most of the time, with intervals up to 170. Sometimes i mix it up and stay around 160 for an hour straight. I vary what machines i use -- i use the treadmill, treadmill with incline, exercise bike, stair climber, and elliptical, in different ratios and in different order.s I worked really hard and lost 30 pounds. So now i am at 190.
No matter what i do though i have been stuck at the same weight for 6 weeks now. I have read about plateaus and that you just have to stick with it but come on, it is not magic, it is math. You eat a certain number of calories, and you burn a certain number to stay alive, and also you burn with your physical activity. I have a lot of muscle tissue now and with all the working out my metabolism should be in high gear. I am active throughout the day, up and down the stairs iwth my son, cleaning the house, etc.. Something is wrong here. I never exceed 1200 calories a day ( i do not count calories-- this is just what i assess in general, and what i do eat is all very healthy in the right proportions, unprocessed, organic, with vegetables being the highest quantity, etc) . I burn about 1000 through exercise, my bmr should be at least 1500, even if i have gone into a conservative mode... plus just moving around during the day... so i should be losing a pound every 3 days ... but i haven't lost any weight in the last 6 weeks -- my weight vacillates back and forth over the same few pounds. I can see 2 or 3 weeks, but six weeks???
I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE ... ITS NOT FAIR!!!!!!
