Forum Language

First of all, I agree with the IM type of language, it drives me insane.

Now, Im gonna play devil's advocate for a minute (no pun intended). Some of the members of our forum (as well as others) probably only speak english as a second language. Proper language and grammar is tough to learn to someone who hasn't grown up using english. Its hard enough for some of us who speak english as a first language hehe.

If someone posts who doesn't seem to type properly yet I can understand, I'll try to help. If I see a lot of "l33t speak" I just ignore it.

English is my 2nd language and I'm good :D.. Some of the IM talk is okay, as long as it doesn't get to the point where you don't even know what's going on..

That did sound like a stereotype DOH, my bad guys/gals.

please correct me everytime I post.. I should put this in my sig lol I really need to improve my English and reading incorrect words makes me get new vocabulary with mistakes which isn't good. The grammar part is also very important..

Thanks.. Portuguese is my 1st language..

I'm sorry to disappoint you but it already has.....Can anyone remember the last time they heard a joke or saw something amusing and the first thing that popped into your head was something other them lol?

My 11 year old stepson was on the phone the other night, he actually said this:

Oh Emm Gee Double-U Tee Eff

Kids are actually using IM speak in normal language.

there are people saying LOL in the corrent language haha isn't that sad. I got this friend that is always using it..I hope I don't get it =/

okay a little off topic from the im talk but.. i'm in the middle of mid term exams and find myself with a cold. not so good when you are doing like 8 senarios. but what i want to know is anyone got any ideas to boost the energy levels when you are sick. should i ease up my workouts abit will it help me to recoup better for this d**n cold???

What was that Jenn?

Anyways I wanted to bring this back up, its not so much instant message talk as it is lack of periods, commas, and capitalization. Is that too much to ask?

Capitalization and punctuation, is the difference between "Helping your uncle jack off a horse" and "Helping your uncle Jack, off a horse"

HAHA, wow, well you do make a very good point...but the IM talk honestly annoys the crap out of me, so much that I usually don't even read the rest of thr post

LMAO......funny stuff.

I always try to be grammatically correct but, I'm hardly going to rag on people who aren't and who miss out the odd comma. Maybe they don't speak English too well, maybe they're in a hurry. Either way, this is a forum people use in their leisure time...its NOT school!! Some of you guys need to lighten up a bit imo

If a post is unreadable, I won't read it and move on - its easy.
