OooOoohhhhh....yeah....that's bad..... We are messin' with things we really should leave to nature....Wait till the white woman has a black baby! Then the story is really going to explode!!!!

I don't have sound. What I can tell from the title is that they mislabeled all the eggs?

This reminds me of the song, "Surprise, surprise, puppy surprise, wonder how many puppies are inside?!" ;)

Wow, that's terrible. Serious negligence by the clinic. I feel bad especially for those who had a "last shot" deal going and the other woman decided to abort the baby that should have been the biological mother.

whatever happened to having sex? omg! maybe if a baby aint coming, one
isnt supposed to come. ya know?

this is a major GOD PLAYING step over the line situation, i am thinking.

how abotu throw all the eggs and all the sperms into a pot an boil them; let's see what come out.

my goodness.... i understand a person wanting to have a ababy real bad, but shoot, maybe they are not supposed to.

I want to have a million bucks, but shooting my sperm into a tube wont give me that.

SO- if the universe says I can't have a million, and it says the lady cant have a baby. Is the desired baby worth less, or more, than my desired million?

hahaha

that shoulod inspire some conv!

Why can't they? I'd rather see a couple in their 40's try in vitro fert than have a couple 16 year old kids have 10 or 20.

What if the universe gives you everything you need to go get that million? You'd be a fool not to get it.

Well I don't think it's "playing god." I mean I don't think sex is the issue here. Rather I think life changing events happen where a woman cannot have a baby. For example, sometimes doctors might have to operate on a woman, and as a result, she can't have babies anymore, so they might extract eggs so that when she is well, she may have children if she chose so.

Other cases include men who would require surgery, then later on they decide to have children again and they have that option.

I don't think we're "playing god" here because all these things happen as a result of man made causes.

Well, for a start God is a fictional character from a book so nobody is playing God.

Secondly, I think a 40 year old couple who have to spend so much time, effort and expense just for a chance to have a baby are ideal candidates to be parents.
Any drunk couple with a disregard for contraception can have a kid the natural way without ever thinking about it but these people have shown their desire to have a child to love and care for

This is true, however the flip side to this is when this child is 20 or younger, he/she could be burying mom or dad, too. Not saying this will happen, but it is a possibility so how fair is that to the child?

I will acknowledge that science and bioengineering has developed into a huge and wonderful thing, but when is it going to be enough? and when do we as a society realize we just can not always get what we want?

I'll be an "old fart" like FF because I too believe in natural selection.

There. I've broken out the slotted spoon to stir some ish.. LOL
However, please remember this is just my opinion (small and humble as it is) and i'm only sharing it & asking a couple of questions... not trouncing anyone :)

Carry on :cool2:

My mum had me naturally at 40 so what's the difference?

Also, if we're going down the natural selection root then isn't it about time Panda's, Elephants, Tigers, Lions and about another 2,000 other ‘at risk’ species went extinct as without human intervention to save then through breeding programmes they'd all be dead by now?

Natural selection has very little to do with infertility in humans. If we had natural predators and our slow and weak were killed, like with animals like the gazelle which then makes the herd stronger then fair enough, you might have a point, but that doesn't relate to us. See natural selection 101:

If a man took a blow to the balls as a kid and now produces inferior sperm or one of the couple had chemotherapy and has been left with very low fertility levels then should they really be stopped from reproducing? Do they suddenly have inferior DNA that nature wants to wipe out?

Typhon -

Call me old school but i'm going to choose to believe how I have for the many centuries i've been around.. :)

Everything you said is valid so I will concede to that. No worries .. we're cool :)

However, you did ask this: "My mum had me naturally at 40 so what's the difference?"

The difference is - and i'm going out on a limb here ;) - that your parents probably had more fun creating you than your dad wanking into a cup and your mom having a harvest procedure that ultimately resulted with inserting a needle in a tube...hehehe

Yeah of course we're cool, you're entitled to your view ;)

However, I once worked with an absolute genius of a woman, and her husband was a software engineer, tall, strong as an ox and as intellegent as any man you'll ever meet.

I don't know who had the issue but these guys spent close to $100,000 on attempts to get pregnant but couldn't. I'm not kidding when I say the offspring of these two could have a decent chance of creating a cancer cure.
The parents were both very healthy, both parents with IQ's through the roof adn in their late 20's. I can't see how natural selection would have anything to do with those two not reproducing

so if i were to kick my son in the nuts real hard it would mess up his reproducign chances?

hmmmmmm

would I then be playing God?
Or would that be me barbarically forcing natural selection?

why do i think of things like that? :cheeky2:
