Hello guys!

My diet story is really long, but I would like to start from the time when I realized that there is nothing make sense than a balanced diet and no stress life..

Before that time I was eating totally everything except fast-food and chips. I was eating too much, I've been every day at the gym, sometimes twice a day which was making me feel exhausted. And... My body weight was 15kg heavier than today. I couldn't lose my weight for 5 years. My skin wasn't looking good- I was lost in my thoughts which was making me more and more depressed. I wanted to find disease in my body to blame something for my body weight and my everyday mood. But there was everything fine. I was just lost in a tone of 'diet' informations.

It was a really long process to be here where I am today, but it was worth it :)
I've been learning a lot about nutrition; I started to meditate, I started to focus on my heart and love myself.
I started to focus totally on my immune system to make my body stronger. Stronger immune system= less illnesses, stronger body, stronger mind.

My diet is clean from fast-food, saturated fat, sugar, animal products, alcohol, coffee, and medicines or any chemical products.

I eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole wheat flour products, leguminous vegetables, and eggs from my uncle's farm.
I drink only water and good herbal tea.
I also take good supplements that I need.

Today I am a totally different person. I more focus on my feelings than on my look.
Now my weight is good for me, but it would be better to lose about 2-3 kg more :)

I decided to come to the forum because I want to know more about members' experiences, and I think I can help those, who have some problems with lose weight or want to feel better by diet. I am open :)

Hey Food C, good to see that you've started a diary. It seems like you have made some good food choices. Do you have a food plan or count calories? Do you exercise?

@alligatorob

I was counting calories, but for now I just know what to eat- I've learned from the past meal plans. So I eat 4 times a day. I sleep regularly (go sleep at 10 pm and wake up at 6:30 am)

My workouts:
- everyday morning yoga (30 - 50 min) then breakfast
- 2h after breakfast- 50 min walk with my dog. When I don't go with my dog I do some exercises (found on the internet) which takes around 1h
- and in the evening yoga with my mom about 30min (I teach her, so it is soft)

Sometimes I have lazy days, but I try to be systematic ;)

Hey Food C, I see you giving a lot of people good advice, but you don't say much about yourself around here. Post something about your progress and daily life now and then, it would be nice to see.

You are an asset to the forum, its good you are here.

Hey @alligatorob , this is so nice that you remember about me! :waving:
I forgot about the diary because almost every day is the same :) But I will try to make it more active.

So maybe I will tell something about my last weekend because it was really surprising.
Saturday morning I decided to do yoga before breakfast as I do it every day. So I started with really gentle stretching, and while I turn my body back to the right side to stretch the whole trunk, I felt my cervical vertebrae moved really bad. I felt sudden pain from my neck to my shoulders and to my elbows. I felt like my blood is becoming so hot in those parts.

And guess what. I had to go immediately to chiropractor to set the spine. It is ridiculous that while that gentle move my spine just gave up
So from Saturday till today I am sitting at home and just reading books or doing something on my computer, waiting for recover..

I had to go to chiropractor one more time on Tuesday. It was so painful.. Today I feel it less, but still. So I am kind of sad because I can't be active.
Maybe you guys have any ideas for compresses or ointments? :)

Wow! No ideas, though there are people here who will have useful input. I can just say - wow! I'm really sorry that happened to you! :( I hope it gets diagnosed and sorted soon.

Sorry to hear about your back, that can't feel good. Like Amy it is not something I know much about, others here probably do. Is there exercise you can do that's easier on the back? Like swimming maybe?

What do you eat day in and day out? I know you say that you don't count calories, but you must have some way of avoiding what I call portion creep.

What kind of dog do you have? We have 2 dogs, both rescues so we are not really sure what they are, the old one appears to be mostly beagle, the young one is supposed to be a beagle/boxer mix but I am not sure. I like having dogs around, good companions.

I am getting better and better every day. I think I can slowly come back to my workout from Monday :)

I can't swim :blush5: but I will try to do some gentle yoga from Monday :)

I am vegetarian/vegan (vegan when I am out of my house)
I wake up at 6:30 am and go sleep at 10/10:30 pm every day and I eat 4 meals a day. I know there are so many people who can tell me I should eat 3 meals or even better 2 meals per day but I just don't feel it. I prefer to eat smaller portions because I feel better at this point.

I eat breakfast at 8-8:20 am after my morning routine as go with my dog, yoga, etc.
So my breakfast is two slices of homemade whole wheat bread with real linseed oil and raw veggies (sometimes I add 2 eggs instead of oil)
Sometimes I eat two slices of homemade whole wheat bread with lentils paste with raw veggies.

Before the second meal I used to go for a 50 min fast walk with my dog but now I am out of that because of my back and It makes me I feel unuseful.. ;)

My next meal is around noon
raw veggies-fruit salad, sometimes I add a few nuts or rice cakes but I really want to stop eating rice cakes. Those are not healthy.

Then I eat my third meal around 3 pm
vegetable soup with any groats or potatoes (boiled without salt), and mostly those soups are with leguminous vegetables and some healthy oil
Sometimes when I want to take rest from soup I make vegan style risotto or I just eat boiled vegetables

And my last meal at 6:30-7:00 pm
It is almost every day 2 scrambled eggs with veggies and sometimes when I am hungry I add some carbs

I try to eat clean. I have many products from village farmers I mean veggies and eggs. When I eat out I eat only vegan food because then I know that those eggs aren't from real farmers but from grocery.

My daily supplements: vitamin B12, vitamin K2, grapefruit extract seed, probiotics, sodium butyrate, calcium from eggshells.

Oh, that is so nice you have a dog! I love dogs :beating:
I have something like a min pin and she is as daughter for me haha :)

Your meals and schedule are impressive, do you get tired of the routine?

I think 4 meals a day make sense. I tend to eat a number of snacks to spread my eating out over the day, maybe kinda similar.

Is that you in the picture?

I am not getting tired, because I am trying to change vegetables and fruits a lot which makes my daily meals attractive.
...But yeah, when someone cooks for me then it is changed but this is the only situation.
Today I don't feel good after crazy, full of missions weekend... I was eating some random food (healthy but still different), and now I feel like my digestive system doesn't work well. This is exactly what is happening when I change something or even when I am not going to sleep later than 11 pm. Anyway, tomorrow I will be better :)

Is that you in the picture?

Yes, it is me :) I would not put here someone's photo :D

I used to live alone but now I have some people who I live with. They don't have any special diet or they are not on the same diet rules as me. I don't even try to comment what they eat because everyone is adult and everyone can make a decision :)

Guess what :) I am getting better with my back! I am coming back to my daily activity.. finally! :hurray:

I will try to do fasting.
I was always thinking about to do 36h post, but I think it is better to first prepared my body with fasting.
I am going to eat my first meal at 8:30 which is goo because I will have enough time to do yoga and meditation before breakfast and I am going to eat my last meal at 4:30
So I will have 8 hours of eating time and 16 hours of fasting... we will see.. I think it will be a long way to do it right because I was always eating my last meal at 6 or 7 pm.
Anyway, I am curious if it works well for me or not, so I should just try ;)

Thanks @overlandflyer for the inspiration. Hopefully I will strong enough. Zen

Good to hear your back is getting better! Take care of that back, you'll be needing it for a long time.

Good luck with the IF thing, I look forward to see how its working for you.

Really good that your back is coming good! :)
Living in a shared, non-family household is always interesting, and sometimes difficult - for dietary as well as other reasons! I lived in shared households for several years, starting from when I was a student, and enjoyed it very much.
Good for you, to be trying the intermittent fasting - I'll look forward to hearing how it goes for you.

Hello guys! I am back.. and...
I've been trying to do my plan but it is not that easy especially when the winter is coming and I feel like I need more food.. :) But I am trying. The longest time without food (include night) was 15 and 14 hours, but mostly it was 13 hours. I am not gonna give up. I will try more, but also I know that I need to keep my mind calm so I will try to find the compromise.. :)
Any stories to make me more motivated about fasting 16 hours a day?
