Sport Food Addiction

I never saw that. Care to elaborate how exactly he became addicted?

Towars the end, after he ate it, he would be come depressed, lethergic, fatigued, etc. But when he would go back to McD's for another 'fix', he'd be happy and have energy again for another 1/2 hour or so.

Grrr. Wish I could cut crap food out like you. Like every day ile have a chocolate bar but I do alot of biking and exercise but I need to cut the crap out really
y :(

A lot of fit people occasionally have a treat, I just chose to be hardcore about it. I think when you give in occasionally it just keeps the craving alive. The way I look at it now is "it's just food, what's the big deal?"

I think its good to treat yourself sometimes, just make sure that you burn it off. I've given up counting calories, just try and eat lots healthy food most of the time and do lots of exercise. Never underestimate the psychological boost a bar of chocolate can give when you cold, wet and hungry. Besides lots of fast acting carbs aren't always bad thing.

Interesting. The part about being lethargic and depressed sorta happens to me, but I don't chronically eat fast food like he did. My GF's family took her and I to Montgomery Inn (they have some bomb ass ribs) on July 4th, and of course I housed on a pork chop and lots of ribs. While it was delicious, I just looked back on it the whole day, and even the rest of the weekend, and just felt bloated and sick that I ate so much crap. I was thirsty all day from the insane salt amounts. It's really the reason I decided to write out a structured meal plan which I started yesterday...I hate the feeling of overeating, or just eating crap in general...on the other hand, the feeling of eating right, it's just a motivational boost...like I am fueling a well-oiled machine. :D

I have no scientific evidence, but I tend to believe you can become addicted to that kind of food.

Have you ever seen someone gorge themselves on baked chicken and broccoli? LOL

Before fast food was on every corner and snack cakes, chips etc were in every store, let';s say my grandparents generation, obesity was relatively rare....the average person wasn't overweight

I do not allow a diet contradiction.

I have a stronger personal conviction.

And, the fire from my hands will make this prediction:

I will not see goal crucifixion.

Any questions?

Best wishes to all! :)

Yeah, I suppose I agree. I just think it's an addiction to a good feeling. As you said, no one really gets too thrilled about chicken and broccoli. Not saying I don't enjoy eating healthy, and certainly I enjoy the food I eat, but let's face it...tacos, pizza, subs, coneys...the stuff flat out tastes GOOD. Just as a junkie becomes addicted to the feeling of being high, someone can become addicted to the feeling of eating GOOD tasting foods.

Still, I just don't know if I can sympathize with that. The mental processes that go with drug addiction are very strong, hence why it is so painful and difficult for addicts to quit. But with food, I just feel differently. People have to take responsibility for their actions. Would I rather eat pizza today instead of brown rice and chicken? Sure, but I know that it is not in my best interest, and I know it won't help me get to where I wanna be. That's the end of the line.

Also, I re-read your comment about our grandparents or great grandparents generation, how obesity was rare, because there wasn't fast food EVERYWHERE...and stores weren't stockpiled with chips...

This is so true. Our society today doesn't leave much room for preparing good whole foods. Combined with a society of driving to work, sitting all day, driving home, chillin on the couch...equals out to some swelling waistlines on all fronts.

But again, the difference maker are those people who say sure, my life is hectic, but I'm not going to eat Hardees every damn day just cause it's easy. Nothing easy is ever worth doing...

My wife's grandpa is in his 80's. If we visit the farm for a family function he'll be there for like a 1/2 hour then he's off in the fields baling hay or picking fruit or something...He works harder than most 20 year olds

Ha, yup, I know what ya mean.

It's the gift and the curse of modern society. All our advancements and technology is designed to make everyone's life easier, which is does, but it also has created a society of fast food dependent, out of shape people...

Manual labor is not in most people's dictionaries...:D

An explanation on why Chillen is so nutty:

I didn't stutter when I utter I am addicted to Natural Peanut Butter.

So beware, we are a beautiful pair and can walk on air while having our extramarital affair.

So, I let it rip on my lip.

And, go on a trip when I dip in our rather creamy relationship.

Two nuts belong together.

Complete "nutters" together= happiness. LOL.

:)

ROCK ON!

he, he

Best wishes,

Chillen

theGooch, perhaps you can make some money by telling your story on these tv shows or promoting eat-all-you can food places? Just my 2 cents and probably not a good idea, but if you make it to Dr Phill wave, I'll probably be watching. :yelrotflmao:
