Fluff's not-so-fluffy diary

Thanks guys! :)

Had a good day today. Got 3 sessions done on my treadmill, each for about 30 mins. My steps for the day are at 16,000. I drank more water than a camel. And my calorie count for the day is at 600. I still have dinner to go though.

One more day until my weigh in day on Wednesday. I am really hoping to see some results this week. :)

sounds like your day went great!!! I 'know' mine did too, but dont feel it at all...I dont even know why?

My fingers are crossed with yours for Wed!

Glad to hear you had a great day too Kate.! You may not feel it, but I am sure you will see it when you get on that scale this week!

I am doing ok today. Was grocery shopping day, which I still find a bit challenging. I never go to the store hungry anymore, but its still hard to pass up so many yummy foods, especially the ones I used to eat all the time. Habits are hard to break. But I did ok and stuck to my list. The treats I bought for the kids are ones that don't tempt me much.

So far today, I am up to 550 calories. I will still have a snack when the older kids get home from school. Probably a rice cake or sugar free pudding, so that will be another 50 - 60 calories. Dinner will be baked chicken with broccoli (for me) and cheese rice for everyone else.

I have been on the treadmill once so far, for 30 minutes. I hope to get on twice more later today. My steps are at 7,500. I am on my third bottle of water, so three more to go after this one.

Tomorrow is both my weigh in day and my rest day as well. I am hoping to see the scale move some! Doesnt have to be a lot, just a little would be good. No walking on the treadmill tomorrow and no wearing my pedometer. I will probably go shopping some of the day, so I won't be a total inactive bum, not to mention the housework that I will be doing. blah.

Will be back later to check in and check on everyone else as well. :)

You're doing awesome Fluff! Good luck with tomorrow's weigh-in. And enjoy your day to rest, you've definitely earned it. :)

Your doing great! I enjoy giving my kids snack now because I cant have them. And I dont want to deprive them, so it seems like I'm more aware of what they are eating and how good it is for them. So now I encourage them to eat lots of fruit or to eat salad with a meal, instead of sitting down at the table with the chips and dip and eating till we were full.

I have found it very easy to use fruit as my filler. I eat grapes like they're potatoe chips, I even take them out to snack on while I'm cooking. It helps me not to poke at whatever it is I'm cooking.

Have a nice day of rest tomorrow, and enjoy your shopping. Till later:) Cabana

Just a quick pop in, Fluff :) Keep up the good work and I'll be back later to check in on ya. :)

ok. I got my 3 treadmill sessions in, but on the last one I only walked 20 mins instead of 30. Just couldnt get the time alone longer than that. Kids were just too busy with homework tonight, and I really needed to be with them.

My pedometer read 16,200 so I am happy with that. I stuck to my baked chicken for dinner, but didnt feel like broccili after all, so I made a nice salad instead. Kids and hubby ate the rice I made. They didnt seem too blown away with it, so I may try something else next time I make chicken.

Drank my six bottles of water! Yeah!

Tomorrow is weigh in day. We shall see what happens. It has been a crazy week here, and I really don't know how my body will react. Have no idea if I will lose any weight or not. Just gonna wait and see. I will update tomorrow morning. :)

Thanks Tru. :) I'm trying. Well, I weighed myself this morning and I am now at 176. Two pound losss! I am kind of surprised. I had really prepared myself, considering everything going on here, that I might not lose anything. I am really happy. Every time I lose a little bit, it really motivates me to keep going. Plus, I feel now like I can do this even if I am facing a more stressful time in my life.

Today is my day off from exercise, but eating well and drinking water is still on. I will be back later to update. Thanks everyone for checking in on me. :)

Nice job Fluff! Thats two more pounds GONE! :D

Enjoy your day to rest, mine was yesterday, and it definitely does help. :)

You go girl!:D
That's 2 more pounds out the door! Everytime I think about losing weight, I picture those cans of Crisco lard....piled high and getting bigger. Did anyone ever show you what 5 lbs of body fat looks like? They showed me the Crisco can:) What a way to visualize the pounds that were shedding:)

I'm glad that you are finding the confidence to do this with all the stuff going on in your life. Enjoy your day off from exercise, you deserve it.
Check in with you later..............Cabana:)

keep up the good job fluff

hang in there

you can do it

if there wasn`t this forum I would have given up a long time

but you guys keep me motivated with your posts when I read how you guys are doing

thanks

Sounds like you will do great. I have not given up some of my favorite foods either. What I do now is I get those small ziplock snack bags and I put the desired amount of oreo cokies or chips or whatever in there and I keep them in one place, so when I get a craving I don't attack the whole bag of cookies or chips. That way I can still have what I want, just not all of it. I'm sure everyone in my house likes seeing that theres still chips and cookies left when they get home from school and work. I am a daycare provider so I am at home all day. It's a challenge being at home all day when there's a kitchen full of food!
X2change (time to change)

Thanks everyone! :) Today is going well. Breakfast and lunch totlaed 525 calories. I havent had my afternoon snack yet, but will shortly. Probably will have a sugar free pudding so that will be another 60 calories. Haven't figured out dinner yet.

I have been on the treadmill twice, 30 minutes each time and I am on my third bottle of water for the day.

X2- I know what you mean about how hard it can be at home when the pantry and the refrigerator is always there. Its really hard too when you have to keep snacks around for the kids. There is always temptation just a few steps away. Its tough! But its not reasonable to keep crackers and cookies away from everyone in the house either. I think this will help us in the long run though, as far as keeping the weight off. If we can learn ways to deal with these temptations now, I think we will be less likely to reagain our weight later. Or at least that is what I keep telling myself! lol.

Have to go run some errands. Shall be back later to update. Thanks everyone for checking in on me!! :)

Hi sounds like your doing great, keep up the good work.
I know how hard it is with the kids and their snacks. I am slowing changing theirs over as well though, as there are healthy snacks our there that kids will enjoy, I am doing it very slowly though, hopefuly get rid of the junk in there diet as well. I figure its got to be better for the kids as well in the long run. Though kids are one thing Hubbys are a completly different story lol.

Hi Fluff!!! Congrats on that 2 pounds !!!! That's great!!! Ya know, Cabana "sees" that Crisco can of weight lost..... its funny, i picture the crisco as the fat in the food I am EATING and wonder just where i want to put in ( you know, the legs, the hips, the belly :D )!!! That usually keeps me from eating what ever "junk" I am considering! LOL When I was little, my family used to CALL me Crisco as I liked to eat crisco off the pastry brush Mama used to grease her pans with  I wonder how I stayed so skinny back then............LOL Hope all is going well for you today. :D Keep up the great work:)

Bize...you're so funny! lol. Talking about the Crisco that Cabana brought up, have you seen the Special K commercials where they drop the meat (and i think there is one with potatoes too) on the scale? It ends up weighing like 6 pounds and they say that is how much you could lose eating Special K? (I wouldn't cause I would end up eating too much Special K. lol) But its that picture of them dropping those slabs of meat -- I dont know-- it just makes it hit home somehow. Now I think every time I lose a pound, its like losing a slab of meat or a potato. Weird thing to think, I know, but it does help me picture in my mind what I am doing (esp. those times I just can't see the results yet in the mirror!)

Zoila, I think your idea of switching the kids' snack foods too is a great one. I have both, healthy and not so healthy. Its hard because I think they should have cookies from time to time. Or an ice cream or whatever. Its just tricky having it in the house, and being disciplined enough to stay away from it. You are right though about the husband thing. Like with my husband, he doesn't want the sweets so much, but he still wants his regular dinners....meat...potatoes...rice dishes....stuff like that. He is not going to tolerate baked fish and broccili every nite! lol. So that has been tricky as well. Trying to still cook for the family and stay on this diet.

Ok...so last night we had a flat tire. Grrrr....Like I needed one more expense rgiht now! So bascily we had to get some new tires (the others were rotten too). While waiting for tires with three kids...at dinner time...we ended up eating at Sonic. Not the healthiest place. They do have salads but they were like 3 dollars more than the hamburgers. I couldnt bring myself to spend the extra money...after buying new tires!...so I ate a hamburger for dinner. I could have got the one with mustard, but I didnt (hangs head in shame). I did mayo. But...I only ate a hamburger...no fries....so I wasnt totally awful. I looked it up on the Sonic website when I got home and the burger was 577 calories (fat content...thru the roof). So, I did end up staying within my calories for the day. But...ate a hamburger...so I dont know.

Plus I was too tired and frustrated when I got home to get back on the treadmill again...so I sat on my tush and watched Survivor. Made me feel good to see them hungry and wet in the jungle (ha ha). Not nice...I know...but I just needed to know someone was having a worse day than me at that moment. lol.

Back on track today. Its raining so I am going to spend the day cleaning house and I should get my time in to exercise. I will be good eating today. Yes, its pizza night again....but I don't feel as tempted by pizza as I used to. Bought myself a Lean Cuisine (first one i have tried) to munch on instead.

Hope everyone is having a great Friday! Be back later to check on journals and update! :)
