Hi!
Trust me I know this struggle at 19 nearly 20 I've gone from dancing and competing in athletics to over eating and not exersicing! My main goal now is to join the raf and trust me when I looked at that fitness test I thought there was no way I could ever pass it! I knew that I needed shift weight as well as train if I was going to confer this test!
So step 1: I looked and researched all kinds of diet programs and healthy eating programs before settling on herbalife! Let me tell you why I chose it! It's not a dieting program where you cut out fat sugar and carbs (all the things I love) it works on a balanced diet principle. The shakes (meal replacements) aren't designed to stop you getting carbs and sugar and fat they are designed to balance how much of it you intake! Each shake has around 206 calories in it if you wanted to count it like that! I make mine with fruit juice and two spoons of yogurt and the powder! I love them a great refreshing way to start the day if you ask me, then I'll have a snack or protein bar (herbalife) mid morning another shake at lunch and then another snack mid afternoon ( you can have a protein bar but it's not recommend to have more that two a day) And then a healthy balanced meal in the evening including and you might be shocked but carbs in there as well!! Then stick to it!! This kind of thing has to be a lifestyle change not just a one week thing!

Step two: the right exercise for your specific body weight goals! There's no point doing lots of weight lifting if you are just interested in shifting fat! Do cardio!! I hate it but it works!! This would be something you should speak to a professional about if you wanted.

Now I know that these two steps seem easy for me to write but I just want to share something with you before I leave you to make your decision!

No one can tell you how to lose weight or that you're not doing it right! It's a personal thing that you have to decide you want to do! Healthy eating can be fun and doesn't have to limit your social life either!

My mum supplies my products for me at discount and not once has she asked me to join the business because wanting to lose weight and wanting to help people lose weight are two different things! To buy products you don't have to distribute the products!!

And last but not least!!! It's not about the weight on a scale! I've gone up five pounds but I've lost 4% body fat!! I'm heavier but it's because I've built muscle!! Muscle weighs more than fat!! I've given up with weight I'm more concerned about my body fat percentage and my inches!!

Ps... DON'T GO HUNGRY!! It's the worst thing you could possibly do! When you get hungry your body will begin to eat it's muscle as it has a higher concentration of protein and we all know from science in order for our body to survive it needs protein! So if and hour before your next shake is due and your hungry! Have peice of fruit or a yogurt to tide you over for the last hour! It's okay to need to do that!!

Oh and drink loads of water!!!

I've been doing this for over a month now! I have the occasional cheat day (I'm no saint) and I'm in love with the results!

Hugs and kisses! Hope everything goes well for you!

This is a very old thread and the original poster is no longer around.

However please remember that herbalife is a deceptive high pressure marketing company which recently had to pay a 200 million dollar fine for deceptive practices and their products contain low grade ingredients and are nothing more than over priced protein shakes.

I have no experience with herbalife, but following the discussions I see like it has quite some positive results. My take is there's no harm building a foundation on it and losing the desired weight while at the same time learning how to make right choices of foods that will maintain the goal achieved after weaning yourself off herbalife.
