Brizillian Jiu Jitsu is better.

Its the martial artIST not the martial art. saying one art is best is incorrect, some arts are better than some in certain areas, like grappling artsists do better on the ground than striking artists.

Wow really. So If i was 300lbs of pure muscle and trained Mui Tai all my life, training every day with the worlds best teachers. Some from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu would come allong and beat me every time?

Actually I do have theright to close your account, thats what the "super moderator" beside my name means.

The post I was referring to was the one I deleted that said "BJJ is better, **** all of you"

So obviously you do NOT have a right to post whatever you want.

The majority, anyway. Not 100% on the martial artist.

what do you mean lei?
that you can be a good martial artist but have a crappy art? If so, im some cases i do agree, but it all depends what you use it for, most arts are effective for their purpouse, be it knife fighting, stick fighting, self defence, competition sparring..

Klarky - I think this is what Lei was saying...

The winner of a fight will not always be the guy who studies the superior martial art. You may study wing chun, and another guy studies Tai Bo (from a video). This Tai bo guy may beat you just because he is naturally stronger or has naturally fast hand/eye coordination and/or be very lucky.

I can imagine ppl moaning about Tai Bo. I was just using it as a joke.

i catch the drift and i agree. And from that it would be the martial artist, being stronger, good hand eye coordination and stuff like that, its kind of what i meant.

I meant that the majority of the responsibility is on the student, but for that student to fulfill 100% of his potential he needs to have proper instruction in a proper style.

Look up "Yellow Bamboo" for a reference to what kind of crappy styles I am talking about.

You can take a totally untrained street brawler who is the **** when it comes to fighting and put him in Yellow Bamboo. Pretty soon he's gonna be a useless little turd.

Iris your brother must have really gave you a whoopin, you can't even speak coherent English.

Found the yellow bamboo website. LOL

"What is the motto of Yellow Bambo?

Love God, love yourself, make lots of friends"

ya i do alot of jujitsu in my JeetKuneDo class, its very helpful with knife techniques and if fighting against the gun. and on the ground it helps alot too. i always want to get better at grappling though because i mainly focus on stand up fighting

Karky I was wondering how your training was going? What level have you progressed to?

Ive been trying to find something in my area besides the McDojo's of karate and tai kwon do on every corner filled with little kids and yoga classes. I find something like BJJ or Muay Thai but they want $150/mo for 2 classes a week! Im looking at an Aikido school that offers cross study with another school and maybe beginning in Jan or Feb.

Still a yellow belt, summer got kind of hectic, so dident attent much of the summer classes in the club, due to family vacation and such.

I think the training is very good though, im definitly alot better and better prepared if someone were to attack me on the street.
150 for a month.. thats about what i pay for half a year..
