First ever Journal...

Decided to take the rest of the week off from lifting. Beside the soreness, my body just needed a rest, I think. Going at it for 11 weeks, this week would have been the 12th straight.

Just been doing some very light cardio (jogging/biking) and taking it easy. Going camping early tomorrow morning through Sunday, so will get in some hiking and other outdoor activities....

Any one have any experience with that? Just feeling "burnt out" from exercising?

I think NROL states you take a break from lifting every 6 weeks or so doesn't it?

6-8, yes... I wasn't doing NROL prior to this week, actually, so I didn't know if that applied to everything. :) This is the first time since high school I've worked out for this long consistently, so I think my body just needed the rest. :D

Man, what a camping trip! Made a make-shift pizza oven and baked some pizza over the campfire! Didn't go over my calorie intake, I don't think, but did NOT eat good food. Pizza, some fried food, beer... :) I also did a bunch of hiking, climbing, and mtn biking, which was damn good exercise, especially at 8000+ feet of altitude! Man, it was getting hard to breathe like 1 hour into a 3 hour climbing excursion!

I'm having trouble with FitDay, because I have a hard time over the weekend trying to remember everything I ate... but that's something I'll just have to get over. I'm rarely ever home on the weekends, so that makes it hard for me to journal what I'm eating. I think I'm going to start carrying a notepad around and write what I eat so that way I can enter it into FitDay later.

Starting NROL break-in (second try) today. Will report on how it goes when I'm done. :)

Yesteday's NROL workout was good. I had a bit of a hard time last Monday, so I decided to take it easy:

ATG Squats - 2x15 - 75lbs
Static Lunges - 2x15 (each leg) - 45lbs
Bent over two-point DB rows - 20lb DBs
Pushups - 2x15, varied hand positions
Swiss ball crunches - 2x20

My legs are still surprisingly sore - I'm not used to doing high reps of squats, so I think that's what really kills me.
Round II will be today. :)

Good workout last night as well...

Deadlifts - 2x15 - 75lbs
Step-ups - 2x15 (each leg) - body weight
Dumbbell shoulder press - 2x15 - 20lb dumbbells
Close grip assisted chinups - 2x15
Reverse crunches - 2x20

Looking forward to the day off today! :)

Have been keeping up with the workouts, however FitDay has taken a bit of a back seat. Things at work have become busy, as has home life... but I've still been eating mostly clean, only drinking on the weekends, etc. Yet another friend has joined our workout regimen, so three of us now on the NROL breakin. My buddy that's been working out and eating clean with me has also dropped 20lbs, as I've dropped 21 total. (he's now 6'10", 251.5lbs - he was at 270). My girlfriend who is eating clean with me has lost 4-5 lbs... she doesn't have much to lose so it's going pretty slow, but each pound is visible - crazy!

Anyway, sorry, journal - I've been giving you the back seat. Life is well, along with liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

hardyB... This looks like a great workout. What are you using to track all this?
