First Diary Ever

Haven't posted in a couple of days due to work.

No exercise the past couple of days due to work so now I need to get off my behind and start working out...

I know my diet seems to be ok. I am getting roughly the 30/40/30 split -- lately my fat has been around 25% and my carbs are making up the difference --- so I still have a bit of work to do on the diet but don't think too much. Keeping it around 1500-1650 cals.

Exercise on the other hand is needed to improve. Right now I get to exercise 3 days a week (If I am lucky) away from home. I need to work out at home at least 2 days per week as well. I also need to start incorporating weights. So that is my new goal...increase my workout frequency and incoporate weights!!

My husband got the New Rules of Lifting so I'll start those exercises soon.

I havn't read your entire journal, so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how much boneless chicken breast do you eat? it's a great source of protein. and has almost no fat. it'd kick your protein intake to the sky.

I don't eat enough chicken breasts. I keep forgetting to take meat out for dinner -- and today we bought lots of boneless chicken breasts and flank steak and ground turkey.

Thanks for asking -- and posting!

eat those babies up!
there was about a month long period where i was eating chicken breast everyday with every meal, and working out only three times a day; given it was when I first started getting into exercise and eating right again, but i lost like 22 pounds in a month. and I didn't gain it back either.

Cottage cheese would help too...

Thanks Stingo. Unfortunately Cottage cheese does not agree with me...or should I say I don't agree with Cottage cheese! I hate that I am a picky eater -- but I know I am not as picky as some people...

Yesterday I did boot camp in the morning and am feeling it all over today. My legs, butt and back are very sore. We did squats and lunges as well as pull ups, planks, and push-ups. It was a hard workout...

Diet was Ok. I had 33% protein, 21% fat, and 46% carbs total calories was 1900 -- that darn cliff bar and 2 cheese sticks kind of put me over the top...

Today we are supposed to go and play cards with some friends but don't know if that will pan out when we want it to...

So still keeping diet in check and am going to try and work out some of this soreness and drink lots of water!

Monday was an ok day. Had about 1350 cals with 32% protein, 50% carbs, and 18% fat...

Can having too little fat be bad?

So my other half and I looked at some local gyms -- we currently belong to the county rec centers but I think we are going to change to a gym that has some extra benefits. The one gym I am looking at has 4 personal trainer sessions free and monthly follow ups...

I also am looking at some specialized personal trainers for my other half ---

Other than that, not much going on. Want to start lifting some weights...and working out more frequently...

Tuesday was another day of dieting but I am excited because I actually got 41% protein in my diet today!

Breakout: Protein 41%, Carbs 44%, Fat 15% Total cals 1450
Thanks Miss_Christi -- this is due to the chicken breasts!!

Tonight I did my spin class and my legs were really tired so I didn't have as much tension on the bike but still had a great workout.

One thing you learn in spinning class is that it's not always the highest tension that will give you the highest heart rate. It took me a while to reach that understanding.

Haven't posted in a couple days.

My diet is ok but my exercising isn't going very well. I am not as motivated as I need to be because I don't have a good workout progam happening -- When I first started working out I was doing boot camp twice a week and then working on my own for one day and then step aerobics.

So my better half is out checking out a new gym today -- Once I get into a different environment and get a routine working (I really like classes...) I know I will make more progress...right now progress is really sucking!!!

And this is why I haven't posted much --

Diet sucked today...not even going to track it...but on the plus side we did join a gym and I tried the Rep Reebock class -- it was a good work Full body workout with some weights...

Think I'll stick to this class when I can -- also need to make my appointment with a personal trainer..

Ahh a birthday and I missed it. I don't really know you but happy late birthday none the less:).

Thanks (Silent)! It was a good birthday!
