First Day of Working ever.

Today was my first day of working ever in my life.... An 8 hour shift.

Really easy...Just did eggs for 2 hours during breakfast. Then after that I just did Nuggets/Chicken/Chicken Strips/Fish for 3 hours. Then a break...

Did sandwiches for like an hour then back to being nugget boy for the rest of my shift. Whenver we weren't busy I sweeped the place or cleaned tables.

So today I earned $46.88 (8 hours*6.25 pay -30 minute break). Not that hard....just really boring and time is SLOW.

I think I am gonna save up for this as my first car: Just saving up for a cheap car I can get.

1989 Mercury Grand Marquis LS - $595

I didn't eat any of the Mcdonalds food there..I was just getting sick cooking it. OMG don't eat at Mcdonalds. All I had was diet coke; caffine to get me through the day. I have another 10:00 PM to 6:00 PM shift tommorow. I'm also gonna have to find time to space out my meals and workout....Upperbody is not a problem; I can just go over to a friends house but lowerbody is gonna be a issue.

you are soooo cool to share you life with us man! I loved reading your post and seeing your goals, ,my first REAL car was a FORD LTD with a borken power steeriung pump!

pals man, pals all dang day long!!

FF

p.sw. my first job was at a Popey's chicken, and I was a fry cook, and I got to dress up at the popeye's guy and dance on the curb!

My first job was mc donalds too! I didn't get 6.25 an hour though!!

It cured me off mc donalds for the rest of my life! Isn't it gross how you SMELL like greese for the rest of the night? eww. I only ate their ice cream and diet cokes on my breaks :)

A car is a great goal from your first job! Way to go!!!!

yeah; smelling the grease from cooking nuggets all day made me sick...lol

I gotta prepare better; today all I had was diet coke and a peanut butter sandwich when I got home which is really bad....

So I'm mass producing some chicken right now so I can have chicken in the morning; go to work have grilled chicken for lunch; come home and eat chicken; workout at the gym from 8:00 PM-10:00 PM if I can get a ride; then eat even more chicken before I got to bed. Sounds like a plan too me.

My first job was at Taco Bell. My job description was as following: work 9pm to 4am, clean stuff, and work the fryer. About 3 days into the job, an employee told me he worked fast food for the past 20 years. I never went back.

I couldn't do a fast food joint so my first job was a bagger / cart boy in a grocery store.

Paper or plastic?

Welcome to the working world! My 1st car was very similar to your pic, it was a 1978 Oldsmobile Delta Royale 88. It was a huge boat! But it was a 2 door so my friends called it my sports car. :D

Look @ the city you live in for a job.. My first job @ 15 was a part time janitor, hell yeah it sucked.. But it also payed 12.##/hour.. (years ago)

That is the worst f-ckn pay! Are you older than 18?

17. My sister works at Wendy's and gets 6.75 an hour; but they have to pay for there food while we get whatever we wan't for free. I haven't ate any bad stuff from there yet; just grilled chicken and diet coke.

my first job was at the produce department in a grocery store. pay started at around $5.45/hr! lol. that's really pathetic, but the funnest job I ever had. I didn't even get my first car until I was 22. before that I was biking everywhere. I had a choice my senior year in HS: buy a car, or take a trip to Spain...I chose Spain.

Jman, pretty soon you're going to be running for office, so have fun where you're at right now!

Wow. Here in the UK you can get jobs paying £5.50+ an hour. That's almost three times what you're getting. Surely you could get better pay elsewhere? The difference can't be that much surely?

I think I should be getting paid more..who knows though. My coworkers and managers are really good people to work with; and the food is free so its not as bad as people think. Kids at my school were like "omg don't work at McDonalds your gonna die" when it really hasn't been that hard at all. Then again I haven't worked a Saturday yet...

Since the food is free I can have as much grilled chicken as I want :) So I have actually gotten healthier since working here lmao.

For my first job, I was literally a mannequin in the teeny-bopper section of a department store. No joke! I had to stand around for hours at a time. The only thing to look forward to was when I got to change my outfit. But then, after that, there was always more... standing. Talk about a boring, useless existence (but, clearly I'm not bitter or anything :SaiyanSmilie_anim:)

AND, I only got paid $5.25/hr (this was 1997).

The only perk was scaring people in the store who didn't realize that I was actually alive.

There's a reason you've never heard of this "job" before. I'm 100% confident that there wasn't a single person who bought any article of clothing because they saw me, or my co-workers, in it. (Not to mention that my make-up made me look like Tommy the Clown.)

OH, and I forgot the best part! I had to refold/rehang the clothes and put them away at the end of the day. I was such a tool.

lol nevermind...the managers were D*** heads today. We are so freaking busy in the mornings!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm already starting to hate the place...I have worked Sunday-Wednesday for 8 hours which is 32 hours so far. Tommorow will make 40 hours which I think is the max for my age or something like that.

For some reason...I feel like my free-time is gonna finnally be destroyed...I will be working alot this summer, school competition is June 25th-30th so I will be in Atlanta, when fall comes around theres gonna be football practice and then I gotta work weekends to keep up payments on car insurance assumming I get that car, and then after football I'm gonna start working more + school again. And then the next summer is work and getting in college... blah blah you see where I'm going with this. I'm also gonna have to get used to paying gas....

I have more appreciation for my parents and stuff; which is odd coz usually I don't get along with them. They have been working there entire lives just to support me and my brothers and sister.
This past week I have made alot of realizations about stuff like this.I used to think a $5000 mustang was easy money.
