Fat Burning Pills - Do they work?

Now I know there alot of "crap" pills out there but Im wondering if there are any pills out there that actually do work and stimulate fat burn.

recently I decided to try one, my friend gave me Ripped Fuel CUt by twin lab. Ive been using them for maybe 2 weeks now. After a few days I noticed my bowel movements increased, I went from going once a day to once every two days, to going twice almost three times a day...but that was only the first week of use. But a few days ago I was swimming at a friends house and I looked in the mirror and I noticed I looked skinner and I could kind of see my abs.

Now mind you, ive been working out consistently for about two months now. I lift weights about 5 days a week, every day working out a different muscle group. And I do cardio 5 times a week ( sometimes more). And I havent noticed a big increase in weight loss untill after I took the pills. Now Im not saying the pills are working for sure, but they have speed up my metabolic rate atleast by 10-20%.

Of course this could be my body kicking in all of the suddent burning all my fat. Anyways, what do you guys think about fat burning pills and metabolic enhancers?

In the shortest of answers, when coupled with a good workout routine and solid diet, they can help move things along yes, but only for short periods of time. Basically a 4 week span with any thermogenic. Its the people who think taking the pill is all you have to do and not eat that are going to meet with problems. So glad its working for you and your using it as a add on, not just on its own.

Supplements only help what is already happening.....If your nutrition is messed up......training is no good......then don't expect the pills to magically burn fat

The thermogenic effect is so small that its not worth it imo, yes you might burn a few extra calories a day but nothing noticable.

I think they determined the average caloric burn from a typical ECA stack was about 100cals a day. so 700 a week...it does add up, but not to any thing incredible.

plus, few fat burners have ephedra now, which is waht that study was based on, so its hard to say if stuff with caffine, synephrine and green tea is even effective, or as effective as the ECA stack.

i take a thermogenic in the afternoon as more of a pick me up than for the caloric deficit it may or may not help create. I am looking for a good online source of ephedra though for my own ECA stack later this year (when I get leaner, and need a little more push to hit my goal)

I'm just curious why it would change your bowel habits. Does it increase the rate of digestion as well as the rate of metabolism? Or could it be just the changes in your diet?

Thats about what Ive heard aswell.

The thing is that lets say it burns 100cal, that means you will get 100cal less for the body to put to use, meaning you may just aswell eat 100cal less, so even if it would work its still useless.

Loosing weight is the easiest thing in the world, eat less that you use up - not rocketscience all you need is some character.

I think my body was just adjusting to the diet as well as the use of the pill...the past few days my bowel has been normal so i think it was just the first week.

Easy in concept, but some peoples bodies are a lot more resistant to losing fat. I'm busting my ass and results are slow but consistant. I would by no means call it easy. It's a lot of work, but the results greatly outweigh the amount of work required.

i found some green tea extract pills .. i might take that ... just to help .. not expecting a miracle .. but it will help some .. was thinking bout hydroxycut .. but dunno .. all of them have green tea extract in it

i really, really doubt the green tea extract alone will do anything for fat loss.

the reason I specifically mentioned the ECA stack is because its one of the few that was actually scientifically tested, and proven to have an effect on burning fat, increasing metabolism, and appetite suppression.

but does Hydroxycut still have ephedra in it?and if not,is it still effective? I've tried Xenical which unfortunately turned out to be a complete waste of money. But about two years ago, i took xenadrine for two/ three weeks, alongwith my workout and the result was pretty good.

I think that's a good sign that you're losing weight the right way, weight lose shouldn't be quick and easy, at your rate is more likely that you're just losing fat and not much muscle

As for fat burners, IMO they may work a tiny bit but they probably burn a bigger hole in your pocket than fat off your butt

I tried hydroxy cut ephedra free and it sucked. I saw no results and I was working out with weights and on a good diet...well not good but I completely cut out fatty sweet foods and sugarized drinks and I tried to maintain my calorie intake. I saw no fat loss at all. The only thing it did was help me stay awake..because I went to sleep really late and woke up really early.

I am drinking green tea (sometimes) as I heard it can stimulate metabolism.

But I also drink redbull and monster now (sometimes) when it suits me. They are supposed to stimulate metabolism.

I am finding it really hard to lose fat. One day I am 148 and another I am 151. I have lost weight though because I was 155..but what a slow decrease..I've been on a healthy lifestyle for about 6 weeks.

Pretty much anything I've tried or anyone I know has tried hasn't work. Hydroxy Cut...no results. That Farenheit pill made me not be able to fall asleep and if I forgot to take it I got a migraine.

The only thing that has worked for me is good old diet and exercise, I think the pills are a waste of money.

One walks in their...Pillbox....everyday.

Its the body.

And everytime you continue your diet and exercise, you take one pill out toward your goal, and thus you are the magic pill.

Yes, there is a magic pill.

I couldnt agree more!

This way we dont do this when things dont work out:
