Running to my goal
I've run 3 times this week and plan another run for tomorrow. I have to say my biggest motivation is my Nike Sports+ thingy. ANyone else use that here? It's a great tool for running. Right now my goal is to overall increase my average pace and be able to run further.
I am currently at a place in my fitness where I can run about .5 km before I get winded. Today I did a 1.7km run (with a bit of walking in there) and it was great. The other days I've done anything from 1.5-2.75km. I find when I get past 2 km I have a harder time running and end up walking more.
My goal- to run 5 km! It seems impossible right now, but I'm sure I can get there, especially since I've run 3 times this week and when I didn't run yesterday I felt soooo guilty all day long. But the Nike Sports is a great little toy to keep track of what I've run and my pace/time.
I've getting married in Feburary (not sure if I mentioned that in my first post here) and while I don't want to use my wedding as a weight loss motivator, it kind of is. It would be a bonus to be 25 lbs lighter by this fall, heck even 15 would make me feel awesome!
Oh- and I ordered the Women's Health Wedding Workout today! It sounds great and sometimes when i get shin splint, it would be nice to not use that as an excuse to not exercise- just because I should take time off from pounding the pavement, I don't want to not exercise at all and think this workout dvd will be a nice change of pace.
