Weight-Loss Fall off for fall....

Weight-Loss
Running to my goal

I've run 3 times this week and plan another run for tomorrow. I have to say my biggest motivation is my Nike Sports+ thingy. ANyone else use that here? It's a great tool for running. Right now my goal is to overall increase my average pace and be able to run further.
I am currently at a place in my fitness where I can run about .5 km before I get winded. Today I did a 1.7km run (with a bit of walking in there) and it was great. The other days I've done anything from 1.5-2.75km. I find when I get past 2 km I have a harder time running and end up walking more.
My goal- to run 5 km! It seems impossible right now, but I'm sure I can get there, especially since I've run 3 times this week and when I didn't run yesterday I felt soooo guilty all day long. But the Nike Sports is a great little toy to keep track of what I've run and my pace/time.

I've getting married in Feburary (not sure if I mentioned that in my first post here) and while I don't want to use my wedding as a weight loss motivator, it kind of is. It would be a bonus to be 25 lbs lighter by this fall, heck even 15 would make me feel awesome!

Oh- and I ordered the Women's Health Wedding Workout today! It sounds great and sometimes when i get shin splint, it would be nice to not use that as an excuse to not exercise- just because I should take time off from pounding the pavement, I don't want to not exercise at all and think this workout dvd will be a nice change of pace.

How's it going everyone? I went to the gym yesterday and did a 30 minute run-walk program which I had downloaded onto my ipod. I felt great after it and so went up again this morning and did it again! My legs are a bit tired now but its a good "I know I've been exercising" tired if you know what I mean :)
PaintedDaisy, I would love to have the Nike ipod runners (if thats what you have), they sound great! And what a great aim to lose weight for your wedding! Youll definitely do it!
Until I can afford those Nike runners :)cry:) I'll have to make do with this run-walk program. Its a 9-week program that aims to get you running to 5k by the end of it so we have a similar aim but I'm only at the "run one minute, walk 1.5 minutes" stage. But hopefully it won't be too long before I can extend the running parts!
I think I might start doing a bodypump class in the gym once or twice a week when I need a break from the running (or as well as, once I get the energy!) I think it'd be good to tone up.

I would love to join!!! It ends just around my birthday and for the past week I've fallen in love with our treadmill at the fire house! I walked a mile and a half last night and I felt great when I was done!!!!!

How's it going everyone? I

Sounds like there's another Irish person on here!! How are ya??

I pulled my calf muscles in the gym the other day-------aah! So taking a day or two off working out to heal them, but I'll be back in the gym tomorrow to celebrate finishing my exams and having a whole summer to look after myself and get fitter! WOO!

I twisted my ankle yesterday. It's bruised, swollen and sore. :( No running for me for awhile. I guess my challenge will have to do with swimming instead.

YesICanDoIt, well done on finishing your exams!! Sorry about the injury though :( You too CaseyAtMartin..hope you both recover soon :)

i wanted to go to the gym today, but thought id clean all the clothes and crap out of my car first...

well, that just lead to me cleaning out my car, then armor-alling everything, then vacuuming the whole thing, then saying "screw it!" and unbolted all of the seats in the car and took those out, went to the store, rented a carpet shampooer, shampooed all of my carpets and seats, put the seats back in.

believe it or not, i think that was at least equivalent to a normal gym day. the vacuuming and carpet shampoo-er really tire your arms, plus lifting and moving the seats, plus the trips i did from my driveway to my house (at least 40 times, and its about 100 yards)

all in all, not a bad day. tomorrow i will work on detailing all of the outside of it. and if any of you have waxed a car, you know thats an arm workout!

Gar, 166 this morning. I gained weight :(
I ran this morning too. But, ate pizza last night. Lifting weights is my goal for this evening. I have a routine from Women's Health I want to try out :)

Hey every one! Sorry I haven't been on, but the family went to Europa park w/ 2 other families for the holiday. Back to business:
Okay, the challenge will start June. 1 through Sept. 1. Everyone will choose their own weight goal. I will post a new thread on June. 1, and I will have a list of people wanting to join. So, if you want to join, go ahead and PM me and list how many pounds you want to lose this summer. Then I can go ahead and have a list of those wanting to start. I will start the thread later, and when it is up I will title it "Falling off for Fall Challenge" and the first post will be who is participating, and no one will "chat" until we have everybody report in. You will only have the 1st to post your starting weight. Sooo...I think that's all, let me know if yall think thats fair, if not, i will be glad to accept everybody ideas
I was thinking we could also have like a 10 mile walk/run min. mini goal per week to (a way to help us keep losing the weight!)

That sounds great, count me in! I'll PM you details now.

Mini goals sounds great, but perhaps we should make our own mini goal as everyone may be at different levels :)

Also, will we do a weekly weigh in, yeah?
That way everyone can state their own mini goal and desired weight loss for the week!

Wooo

Yeah, we will have a weekly weigh-in. We'll go ahead and do it on Friday (if that's okay with the majority). once everyone signs in on the other site we can all start chatting. I will guess probably to start chatting (on the new thread) on Friday - the second, that way we can give everyone a little extra time to get in on it, since I was so late asking for pm's - if that is okay with everyone!

Ok, weigh-in is on Fridays then? Excellent. I like that day of the week!
Although I suppose we don't really start this until June, I still have to note that I didn't jog these past 2 mornings. WHy does it have to rain all the time!! I think I have to get started on an evening option for working out. Should really get more time in with my weight bench!

Okay everyone - so this is the list I have so far:

lisamcm : 25 lb
missymckiibben : 15 lb
PaintedDaisy : 15 lb
Klee : 25 lb

coolmixedhoney : 20 lb
RoyalRoseBlue : 20 lb
dragonlover : 10 lb
YesICanDoIt : 20 lb
Mona : 20 lb
hlangel : 20 lb

Anyone else??? Before I start the new thread. I will try to have the new on up and running before 12 tonight (EST)

Before we all start chatting on it, we will all sign in to it by copying and pasting some info that i will have on the first post!! SO - there is still some time to pm me and let me know how many lbs you need to have "fall" off!

I just tried to PM, but it says you have to have a min. of 5 posts to be able to PM.... I just signed up here a few days ago, so I haven't posted much yet.

I'd love to join this challenge though - 25 lbs.
