I felt kind of crummy after eating all that junk over the weekend, which is probably why I'm still at 163.

Sigh.

Oh well. I think I need to step up the exercise. With the heat, I haven't felt like going out much, so I mostly end up in airconditioned places, generally sitting around and such. I'ma try to go jogging in the morning before my interview (!). I have an interview at Starbucks, but I don't know if they'll want me because of the strange hours I have available.

I just did my FAFSA (super late) and I'm totally screwed. The FAFSA is a form you fill out to get money from the gov. for school. Because I made a small sum of money last year (read full-time minimum-wageish - never mind that I payed for a car and rent and food to eat and was in school half the time), I've supposedly been able to save that all up because, you know, I supposedly get a free ride from my parents, and basically I will be getting no aid at all.

I emailed someone at the federal website and explained my situation. Hopefully they can help.

Well, hopefully everything will look brighter in the daylight.

Thanks, Smiley! I think the interview went pretty well, but I don't know if they'll want to hire me for just weekends. I hope they do - free coffee mmmmmmm.

I was supposed to go jogging this morning... but I put it off because it was hot... and I put it off... and then there was a tornado warning. I should have played DDR at least.

About the bat: my sister was on the computer, and I was sitting by her, and I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. And I saw it whiz by again. My sister says, "A bird...?" I say, "...bat..."

"AAAAAAAAAAAH! BAT!"

Why do bats fly at you?? Probably because screaming screws up their echolocation... Anyway, it was making passes at us (that doesn't sound right) and we ran into my room and shut the door. Then we remembered the cat.

So, after deciding that having to pick up a dead, partially eaten bat would be way worse than chasing the thing out, we left our base camp and went into the kitchen.

"Where is it?"
"You think Panther killed it already??"
"No, she'd be batting it around on the floor if she had, and she's right there, looking up at the wall... oh..."

We put Panther in my room. We ended up taking a screen out of one of the windows. Misty poked at the bat, and it zoomed around our heads. I had to fend it off with a cardboard box. It actually landed on the screen, and we finally got it out the window.

All of this screaming and running around happened around 11 at night. I hate to imagine what the neighbors thought.

We think it came in through the space between the window and the air conditioner. If you ask me, it's the air conditioner's fault for being POSSESSED. Oh, jeez. I've never screamed so much in my life. I'm not even afraid of bats; unless we're in a confined space together, that is.

Anyway, the bat passage is closed, and we're safe again.

About my diet: I'm kinda draggin' behind the wagon. I think I just need to get into a routine, and I really need to start exercising in the morning, to get it out of the way. Tomorrow's the farmers market, so I can get more fruits and veggies.

Over all, I guess my day wasn't too bat:eek:. Owch.

Tuesday 8/10

Breakfast:
two skinny cows  280

Today's going to be a challenge because we're having food day at work. I'm
gonna go play DDR w/ my sister before work.

Part II:

Exercise:

DDR, 20 minutes
swimming, 45 minutes

Calories:

280+
ice cream 'boat'............................................. 450
2 tacos........................................................ 340
3 sm cookies................................................. 210
1 can lemonade............................................. 140
strawberry shortcake...................................... 250
watermelon................................................... 200

Grand total: .................................................. 1870

Ugh. I totally overate at work. Honestly, though, I think some of my estimates (which I took from calorieking) are a bit high, but it's still probably not that far off. Plus, it was all /junk/. Hopefully the exercise cancelled it out a bit.

Exmaniac,
Your escapade with the bat is priceless! I'm glad that you've closed the bat passage. Although, I could've loaned you my three year old. This morning he came dashing past me looking for the Batmobile! (Yesterday he looked at our Little Tykes pickup truck and asked, "Mom, is that an STUV?" God, I love him.)
BTW, I'm glad I'm not the only one walking a bit behind the wagon. Not too far, but not on it, either!

~ Okay so there's a few of us dragging behind the wagon.... what are we gonna do about it?
Love the bat story! I'm sure you'll be talking about it for years.
Funny, cause last night we were admiring the 3 bats that were flying over our heads in the yard. Ally (6yr old) reminded us of a science project we read in a book. When a bat flies overhead, toss a pebble up and watch it zip around to see if it was dinner (a bug). Phil tossed a few pebbles up and we watched in amazement until the darn thing dive bombed my face! LMAO! I never ran so fast b4. It was great!
Told you the AC was possesed! YIKES! tee hee

Aw, that's so cute Scrappy! You must have taken him to the new Batman movie? I thought it was very good.

Woah, it must have been bat's night out! I can't believe it flew at your head, outside and all!! Because of the pebble? Whoever came up with that science experiment probably thought 'heh heh, this'll be funny'. Kind of a neat idea, though.

The dragging thing is not good. :( My plan is to exercise earlier in the day, because then my metabolism gets going. If I wait til the afternoon, I can find plenty of excuses not to exercise. It worked pretty well today, but then I pigged out at work because it was food day.

Well, I'm just going to give it my best this week. My family reunion is in 10 days, and I hope I'll be down to 160 by then. We'll see. Let's all try to catch up to that wagon!

Lmao!!!!that was too funny!!!yeah i think were all, some what running(walking very very slowly lol) behind the wagon. family reunion awesome i bet your gonna get lots of compliments hope you have a blast!!!

Lol EM sounds like you had a bit of excitement. Ok it sounds like we are all hanging on by our nails  , so I have a plan… :D I will get back to you

Good idea with starting EARLY in the morning for exercise...... I will be trying to do the same. I did so much better when I would do it as soon as Phil left for work.

How's the morning workout working?
(We didn't take the boys to see the new Batman movie, but they do love the old ones!)

I did not know there was a new batman movie! Whoa, I'm behind..... Thats wat happens when you dont have Television for over a month huh?

HOpe your exercise is doing well! I didnt get to mine yet DOH !

EM hope you have a good family reunion tomorow!!!
havent been around in a few days. but im back!!! hope you come back soon too!! :)

Heeheehee :p it's my kind of boat too. I guess it wasn't an icecream boat, more like ice cream and condiments stuffed in a waffle bowl, but an icecream boat does sound more fun, huh?

Thanks for remembering Smiley!! :) I'm really excited. I haven't been around either lately, because I've been super busy getting ready for school, and I haven't been thinking about dieting lately , but I did go jogging tonight for 30 minutes  and I'll be back and posting once everything falls into place. I gotta find an apartment to rent, possibly sell my car, take a placement test, sign up for classes (I'm a procrastinator) find a roommate, and generally get myself together. Exercise is a great stress reliever, though. I was tapping my feet at work and seriously hyperventilating because I had so much on my mind... then I went for a jog and felt all better!! :)

Jogs are a great stress releiver, hope the reunion went well!!!i procrastinate everything too, hope everything fall into place for you, stuff usually has a way of working out :)

Thanks so much, Smiley and Scrappy!!

The reunion went great. My Aunt Patty actually told me I looked like a movie star, and my grandma told me she couldn't get over how nice I looked. I was really embarrassed, but I thought those were just the nicest compliments anyone could give me.

Well, I don't know if I'm really off the wagon right now; I think I'm kind of running next to it. :D

Right now, I decided I'm not going to count calories or write down what I eat. I'm going to try to make healthy choices, but it seems that when I count calories, I'm all too aware of what I'm eating, and so I overeat. When I first started losing weight, I certainly didn't count calories; I had no time to! What my Aunt Lisa said to me about dieting (You can't tell yourself you're on a diet; then you just want to eat) really stuck with me. I mean, if I decided to have a non-diet day, I just blew it and overate terribly.

I've gone jogging the last 3 days, and it felt great. I only go for a half an hour. I've got this three mile route that I've been doing everyday. My plan is to keep jogging for 30 minutes for the next two weeks, then maybe move it up to 45 minutes of jogging.

I guess I'll see how this works. I've felt really good these past few days, even with everything going on. I think I'm getting addicted to jogging. :p
