Sport Egg whites and yolk

Sport Fitness
ive recently started eating egg whites and i also eat the yolk.
how bad is the yolk or is it bad at all?
i usually take about 6 small size eggs.
dont know the nutrional facts on these, can anyone give me some estimates
on protein fats and calories?
also will eating too much eggs make my cholesterol rocket?
thanks in advance.

The yolk has most of the fat and cholesterol. Its fine to have a coupld of yolks per day if the rest of your diet is suitable for your exercise program.

I have eggs for breakfast every other day.
I have 2 whole eggs and 2 egg whites.

You can check out nutritiondata.com for the numbers. It's in the top 50 list

As far as the yolks and concerns, it's more about ones family history and overall nutrition plan than just about egg yolks. Some people are still hanging on to 30 year old beliefs but for the rest of us living in the present we know that current research has shown eggs not to be the villians they once were accused of being.

Egg whites are perfectly fine. Egg yolks have something like 200+ mg of cholesterol. I personally only have say 3 egg whites and no yolk, but some on here have many egg whites, but include some egg yolk. Good luck Mindwar. :)

The Yolk Is The most Nutritious part Of The Egg

There Is Just As Much "cholesterol " Running Through The Viens As The Arteries But Thevbeins Never Becom Sclerotic Never Only The Arteries And Particularly The Coronary Arteries Where Blood Pressure Is Greatest

Clarification please?????

i would agree that the yolk is the part that gives u the "cholesterol problem" however i dont know how healthy it is to eat 6 eggs even if it is all whites (ahhhmmmahhmmm TONY"!!!)

why is 6 egg whites...about 18g of pure protein, 0 carbs, 0 fat...a bad thing?

and egg yolks...dietary cholesterol in general, is only half the equation...the other half is genetic. if both your parents have high bad cholesterol, chances are you will too, even if you don't eat poorly. You'll probably end up with more good cholesterol and less of the bad, but your bad levels will still be higher than someone with genetically good cholesterol.

I may be slightly off on this but half of the protein is in the actual yolk. So having some yolk is healthy, IMO. I'll vary what I take in, but usually a typical morning can include 2 whole eggs and an additional egg white (plus other breakfast items).

Ah, here is a little blurb from About.com that speaks to what I said above:

"Eggs are a complete source of protein. Both white and yolks contain proteins. The yolk has fats, while the whites do not. One large egg white has 3.6 grams of protein. The whole egg would have about 6.5 grams of protein. Many people avoid the yolks to eliminate fats, however, Omega Eggs can be a great source of omega 3 essential fatty acids, and the yolks are also a great source of lutein"

Yep, the avg. large egg has about 6g of protein total, half in the yolk, half in the white, and all fat/cholesterol is in the yolk.

everyday?
how does that effect other body parts...such as the liver?

Yes.. and the yolks also hae the iron and potassium and virtually aany other thing you find in eggs besides the 100% pure protein of the whites..
the idea of only doing the whites though is that you get to eat as many of them as you like ( providing you can break them down and get enough fluid to compensate for the keto hole) .. and it's waay better from gut filler to recovery than most other foods..

The fat and iron and jazz you can get from better sources.

the yolk helps the body absorb and utilize the white protein better... and don't worry about the cholestrol, since studies have found that eggs are high in lecitine which lowers cholestrol. Nature's way of balance i guess..

What about boiled eggs, LV? Do those change the macro content?
