Sport Fitness
OMg i got eating disorder. Like im in my room and im not hungry at all but i get this craving to eat. Then i dont stop eating untill i get full. I gained 15 lbs in 1 month. After losing 25. I dont wanna go back to getting fat. Someone plz help me. Give me some good advice other then dont eat.

I don't know if there is any other good advice besides don't eat or find something that's not so fatening; it's all about will power.

Have you recently tried a new diet? You may not be eating enough which will lead to cravings and binging.

sports helps this, join a night league softball team, or a flag football team. you will not be bored, it will get your mind off of eating, and you will be exercising.

yea i do need to go out more or make a hobbie were im occupied. Im trying not to eat that much. I am really ashamed and dissapointed right now for gaining all that wieght back which i worked so hard to lose. But i just dont want to gain any more.

I wouldnt say thats a disorder, its being bored, its exactly how I was. I was my worst in the evenings after work, so I started going to the gym instead! problem solved lol

I understand you Toly. Had the same problem. Lost 25 (the unhealthy way) then I got cravings and gained 10. All I can add is: take a walk everytime you are about to grab something again. Do something, keep yourself occupied and try to buy less if not none of the tempting foods. It's better to chew on a carrot that a chocolate bar ;)

Thanks guys for the advice. I think its already helping me. I lost 4 lbs already by running alot. And not eating that much. I hope i can keep it up.

Remember its a life style not a fix. You keep up the running and whatever else works for you and you will see results. Soon enough exercise will become your craving and you will catch yourself saying "When I get bored in my room I start doing push ups".

Keep up the effort, you may also want to try eatting more often and smaller portions so you are never full but never hungry.

Do it the way I quit smoking: keep the mind in control of the body. The mind has to "let" the body eat. Don't keep unhealthy food in the house, and don't let yourself go get bad food.

If you must binge, binge on something good. Those carrot sticks aren't so exciting after the 300th one.

Distract yourself. Hobbies are great. Maybe when you get the urge you drop and do 50 crunches. You'll be too out of breath with a burning gut to want to eat anything!

Give yourself goals and prizes: stick to a good diet for 3 days in a row and buy a new (cd, watch, pair of sneakers...) whatever is moderately neato that you actually want. Stick with it for a whole week and win a better prize... Make One Month and get something even bigger.

I personally think it helps to know what you're going for to keep yourself in line. May not work for you.

I'm almost to a year of not smoking, so we're going to the Canary Islands. clearly, dangling a major prize in front of myself works ; )

[side note: altho I compare smoking to overeating, they are very different and each person has their own demons to fight with either habit]

no i dont starve myself in the morning or evening but i guess im eating too much junk food. I decided i would try a diet 1200 cal 30g of fat 170 carbs per day. This is my first day trying it. I got some freinds to help me, we made a little bet and made some goals. Hopefully that can help me with some motivation. But sometimes i still cant stop the cravings. Ill try harder. I would work out instead but i messed up both my sholders (spraned them) and my knee hurts even more( fell on it and it poped ) so im just waiting untill that heals so that i can be more active.

Dude, even Kate Moss would be hungry on 1,200 cals a day. That's crash dieting and will lead the body to believe you are starving to death.
This causes 2 things:
1. you'll get hunger cravings all day, and will feel tired
2. you won't lose fat, because fat keeps you alive when you don't have any food. so the body will hold the fat, slow your metabolism to survive on 1,200 calories, and you'll probably lose some muscle tissue in the process.

but i get full off of 1200 calories per day.... And i stopped gettting my cravings. It seems like its working. I eat alot but not alot of calories. This is what i ate today: 3 bowls of cereal ( cornflakes w/ soymilk) 1 banana , 3 healthy snack bars ( very low fat and healthy) and a cookie. Im not lieing but i actually do get full off of what i eat. If i eat 1200 calories for about 2 weeks wont my body adapt to it? and finally execpt it. I already have a low motabolism i dont know how it can get any lower.

I could have written your post. I am going thru the exact same thing and have been for a very long time. I go out of my way for the junk food if it is not in the house. Even tonight, i was watching "Biggest Loser" while eating oreos and one of those individual brownie meals. Makes me sick to think about, yet I dont stop :( I am not overweight at all. Im sure I gain from this, but its not noticable (to me at least). I finally just thru the oreos away, even though i just brought them today. But, im sure tomorrow i will have an excuse to go to the store and buy something else to eat at night. Its pathetic and no one in real life knows this about me. I do pretty good when DH is home at night with me. Ugg, just wish there was something I can do to stop the eating...and I am not hungry and do not get full. I also never ever excercise...so i am in BAD health Im sure :(
Anyway, your not alone. I just found this site so im hoping i can find help and support here.

yea man i know what you mean. Im working on it too i think im doing preety good. What i did is i made goals and bets with freinds. Its just a little motivation. how much do you weight? and how tall are you?

You might not nesceraly have a eating disorder but take into fact that you are losing water weight... and the 25 lbs that u lost in a month could be up to 70 % water weight... alot of people lose weight but only to find that it all comes back manly due to the fact that most of the weight lost was water weight. thats what i learned. i went from 237 down to 180 in a month from running everynight.. i did kind of a bad no no which was for the first week i didnt eat anything. manly to supress my hunger. so that way the next week i could eat less and get the same full feeling i took viatmins all week and i drunk alot of water and milk for calicum. when i got down to 180 i hyper extended my knee. within 2 days i was at 190 just from water and i basically balanced there for while even though i couldnt move becuase of my leg. But the moral of this is to take into fact that the water that ur body loses has to be replenshed to see how much u actually lost. its most likly not that accurate to weight urself the same day but as a week to week. the best way to measure how much weight ur losing isnt by Lbs. but is measurments. measure ur waist each week and try to lose weight that way

good luck , jerry
