Sport Does water give you energy?

It gives energy also. I think. Because if you are dehydrated or if your body lacks water, you'll feel tired.

Water as a form of matter have many uses, one of these is to provide body fluid and to help regulate body temperature.Water can be considered the most important dietary constituent.A normal man or woman can live without food for 20 to 40 days, but without water humans die in four to seven days. Over 60 percent of human body weight is made up of water, of which approximately 61 percent is intracellular and the rest extracellular. Water intake, except under exceptional circumstances (e.g. intravenous feeding), comes from the food and fluids consumed. The amount consumed varies widely in individuals and may be influenced by climate, culture and other factors. Often as much as 1 liter is consumed in solid food, and 1 to 3 liters as fluids drunk. Water is also formed in the body as a result of oxidation of macro nutrients, but the water thus obtained usually constitutes less than 10 percent of total water.

Water is required for the distribution of nutrients, electrolytes, hormones, and other chemical messengers throughout the body, as well as the removal of waste products. Water is involved in cellular energy production and the maintenance of body temperature. It is also an important structural component of skin, cartilage, and other tissues. When we eat, breathe, and use our muscles, our body creates residue waste products that the body has to get rid of. Good clean water helps us do this. Without enough water we do not get rid of these waste products? The waste products that we do not discard have to be stored somewhere within our body.
Water is closely connected to fat gain and loss. This has nothing to do with water retention. Water doesn't have any calories, but.....When the body begins to run low of any vital nutrient -- even water -- it will trigger hunger to motivate you to go get some more of whatever it needs. This is true for water because most foods provide some amount of water. It can, however, provide many unneeded calories. The thirst sensation is not a reliable way to decide when to drink water. You may often feel the need for water as hunger instead of as thirst.
Water is a necessary part of the body’s fat utilization process. Water assists the body in metabolizing stored fat because your liver, which metabolizes fat, becomes overloaded when your kidneys don’t get enough water. Your liver’s fat processing function is compromised when it has to do the kidneys’ job as well. Water also helps suppress appetite and relieve fluid retention problems.

That is the reason why WATER is necessary/essential to life......but mind you water does not contribute an energy to the body. Because, to all six (6) essential nutrients, namely, carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins & minerals, and water, only the carbohydrates, protein, and fats contributes energy to the body.

I agree with this statement made here. People are confusing the feeling of being "energized" with just quenching thirst after being dehydrated. Sure, when you are dehydrated your body feels tired, and then feels less tired after drinking water. But that doesn't mean you are energized directly from the water. I'm sure that there are plenty of enhanced energy and nutrient-filled water brands out there now but good ole' plain ole' water is free from all of that. Great point!

Water has 0 calories. Not drinking enough water causes dehydration. Fatigue and weakness are symptoms of dehydration. Water is necessary for the digestion and absorbtion of food and supplies oxygen and nutrients to the cells.

You need to look at the source of energy that you give your body, if it's not natural to the body then it's not doing it well. your body is an energy bank, you want to put more energy deposits in it, and take less withdrawls.

Water will kick on your re-hydration and will support your metabolism. It does not give you any energy but you need it to be able to spend energy. Imagine if we didn’t take in water - we'd be skeletons walking.

yes, you are right. Water gives you lasting energy and absorbs nutrients.
