Just think about when a child or dog do something good. Do you reward them? I don't because just as soon as you stop giving rewards they stop caring about it.

Didn't you get an allowance for doing good deeds around the house (chores) when you were a teenager or kid? Did your parents let you have a drivers liscence when you were doing good (not getting in trouble, making your grades)?

Everyone is rewarded for doing good. If you don't do good at school, you get bad grades or get suspended. If you don't do good at work, you get fired. If you don't do good in your marriage, you get divorced.

I can't imagine as a kid if you get punished for doing bad but absolutely no recognition for doing good.
