on your diet? and what foods do you do it with? i like sunchips and goldfish in moderation of course!

So far I haven't cheated - well....I did have 2 kit kat bites (those lil round balls) and 1 lindt truffle in the just over 2 weeks that I have been on this diet.

cheating is allowed, if not encouraged. If you never cheat, your food cravings WILL get the best of you (you can't deny it :)). However, the cheating should be limited to 1 day a week ... you can do WHATEVER you want on this one day. The best (and often worst) part about our body, is that it likes routine. If you set up a constant routine in your diet, but then all of a sudden "cheat", your body is going to 'average' out what you've been eating the rest of the week and burn away all those useless calories that you just ate.

As for my favorite cheating, beer seems to be right at the top of the list ;) ... chocolate is a distant second ... and then, hitting rock bottom, i'd say chips / nachos

Potatos are my cheat and then chocolate would be second . I am addicted to potatos however , mashed , baked , fried , cooked over a open fire with garlic and onions in little foil packets . MMMMMM potatos . It has actually been the hardest thing for me .

So far I haven't cheated. I haven't really been hungry enough to cheat up until today. Today I have just been starving!!! But... when I snack I am trying to be good about it and snack on fruit or something like that. My weakness is CHOCOLATE :D . I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE chocolate! My husband is going to LA next week and he asked if I wanted him to bring me back some See's Candies (truffles of course) and I shouted NO!!! If they are in the house I will eat them all in one sitting (1lb box)!!!

I find cheating now really doesn't do any dammage to my diet but help it! I think when you cheat your body isn't used to it and goes" oh whats this, I don't know I better burn it off". I find cheating does help and when I cheat i definatley go all out, if I'm gonna blow it mine as well make it a good one! I'm really bad with snacking. I love bread and pasta most but I'm a fan of chocolate too!

I think my biggest times of cheating are when I go home or when I have others cook for me.... I love cooking healthy with fresh veggies and chicken (b/c its so much cheaper than beef) - and so I do really good at home - and i'm too busy to really snack - I have to remember to pack a granola bar, or else I don't eat while I'm not at home (8am-7pm)... but when I do "cheat" it is usually ice cream or alcohol... when you work hard, you tend to also play hard, and sometimes it gets the better of me - especially when I didn't plan for it to happen!!!

I'm a cheater all around... I try so hard, but then all of a sudden, like when I run out of water, I loose my mind and eat a poptart! But there are no more pop tarts in the house, actually theres really not much of anything! But nontheless, I am a cheater.... I need help for that.... Chocolate is a killer, potatoes are even worse, BUT I have not had any potatoes for a while... good good good....
mmmmm..... I'm hungry now!

With me, it's mainy Beer [Coors light] which I have every Saturday evening when I am cleaning the yard or BBQing for my wife and 2 boys or hanging with some friends listening to music. I have set aside Saturdays as my "pig out" day of the week not watching what I consume on that day, it's the other 6 days that I pay attention to. I will usually drink between 1-2 six packs on Saturdays except for those Saturdays whenever my Teenage son has night games.
On the good side, if there is one, I have started drinking in a mug instead of the bottles as one of my friends told me that drinking in a glass will make me drink a lot less than drinking in a bottle, so far, I have to say he is correct so I hope to cut down the Beer drinking way down or maybe switch to a couple glasses of wine as I've heard that wine is good for the heart, will see. If this post belongs more on an "Alcoholic" forum, please excuse it :).

I have always had a very high tolerance level for Alcohol Christina and don't exactly know why, well, I guess I got it from my dad, who had to do a lot of entertaining in his younger days and I would hardly ever see him drunk which really surpised me back then, I have friends who can't drink more than 2 beers consecutively and I wish I was like them and I tell them how lucky they are, funny thing is, they tell me they wish they were like me! This I simply cannot understand, anyway, even 2 six packs don't get me anywhere near being drunk, I get a buzz of course but that's it. Like I said, it is my wish to cut way down on those and eventually switch to a couple glasses of wine whenever I do feel like indulging on a Saturday.
Regarding the "cheap date", yeah, you would be my kind of date anytime, the less the expense the better :) oops, hope my wife don't read this, just kidding! All in good fun!

i'm DYING to cheat right now, but its a week today that i'm on atkins so i better not. maybe in a month or so when i reach my goal. i want to go eat at a restaurant and pig out lol.

Only 7 pounds to go? You truly are a wonder, woman :) , great for you, mine is coming along slowly but surely, a friend of mine whom I hadn't seen for the past 2 months was shocked as he put it, at my reduced size, well this was the ultimate compliment and gave me much reassurance! Also, now all of my waist 36" Jeans now look "baggy", my wife asked me the other day if I am trying to be like our teenage son who just can't grasp the concept of close fitting Jeans, eevn my waist 34" Jeans are now a little looser than before. Also, my T-shirts which used to reach down to my waistline now is reaching down to the middle of my thighs so I am making progress, got to go 10 lbs or more still though, just hope I can stick with it.

WW.... you may think you want to cheat, but that was the old you hun.... look at you now.. look how far you've come... cheating is not even worth thinking about, right?

Mike, my dad drinks alot too. He gets so upset when he wants to sit back with a cold one with my brother (not a drinker) or my sister (not fun to drink with ) or me (gets drunk too fast)... lol... he just cant understand how none of his kids ended up like him.
But I understand it.. I've learned from his mistakes! ;)
I am soo not against drinking. I like to once in a while... just dont like puking, which is where I ALWAYS seem to end up... Still, the buzz is good. oh you should have seen me on my 21st b-day (6 yrs ago)
I almost thought I would never drink again after 12 hours of puking!
So, this weekend I will prob indulge after all this talk!

OH AND WINE! Wine gets me more TIPSY, faster than anything, and don't get me started with Sangria's.. mmmmmmmmm lol

Mike~ btw.... you're doing real good

Really appreciate the encouragement Christina! I tell you, me not getting "drunk" on a Saturday after one or two 6-packs is a "curse" which is what I tell people, the good thing here is that I do a great job [as my wife says] of stopping after the 6-12 and not going any further to actually getting drunk. You know, my father was the same as your in a way, he would "expect" or want his 3 boys to sit and have a few with him and would seem disappointed when we didn't.
Where "my" kids are concerned, it's very simple, I have been telling my 17 year old [ever since he could understand the English language] and still do to this day on a regular basis, that he simply CANNOT drink alcohol or smoke both as long as I am alive and as long as HE is alive, absolutely NO exceptions!! It will also be same with my 6 year old. I have some friends and relatives try to tell me occasionally when we are hanging out that I should "lighten up" and give my son a break and also that this might be "hyprocritical" but I simply don't care and don't pay any attention to any of them.
I have smoked 6-8 cigarettes a day for 24 years [yeah, you all are seeing all of Mike's "demons" coming out of the woodworks now], started when I was 18, now I'm 43 so even though by smoking standards, I was considered a "light" smoker, I gave it up entirely about 1 year ago and now don't have any cravings at all and can't stand the smell of it any more. If there is one constant in my life that I attribute myself having the will power to battle these bad influences, it's simply sports and exercise, I have been in and around it all of my life as my both parents were always into it. It is still the same with me now having my own Football Team and my 17 year old has been competing since he was 5 so being in and around sports keeps helping me to stay on the better side of the track and I would recommend to anyone who is battling any one of these vices to get involved in sports or something that will help in keeping away from these kind of things, pardon the very long post guys.

Long posts are fun... no need to worry there!

Its good you are getting your boys off on the right track....

17 is young to start drinking, (although I started drinking and smoking at prob around 14) WHOA! quit smoking 6 1/2 yrs ago... when I had my daughter...

does he want to have a drink or smoke? it prob isnt his thing anyway which is super good! When I was in school those things were "COOL"... now they seem to be so "uncool" exspecially smoking... but I may be wrong...

When he is 21 will you let him drink if he wants ?

sports are sooo cool to get into. I was NEVER involved in sports and regret it like you would not believe! I do like Volleyball, and other things which may not be considered sports like off-roading and 4-wheeling, paintballing, and hillbilly stuff like that... lol
camping, fishing, biking.....
