Oh man, as a nutritionist-in-training I cannot possibly agree more!! One of my girlfriends is running marathons but eating such crap she looks like a cokehead. She's not fit not healthy at all and tends to continuously be in some sort of injured state from her bad health. When I started working out she told me I HAD to be on steroids because she ran every day and didn't look nearly as fit as me... wtf.
Eating right for what body type you're going for is very important along with exercise, but I agree it is more important. I have always been thin and people say it's because I have a high metabolism. Er, no, it's because I have self-control. I don't have dessert with every one of my gigantic oversized restaurant meals covered in butter. I don't snack on candies in the middle of the day. I eat small tins of tuna or sardines and rice crackers with avocado. When desperate for a quick pick me up, I always have an unsalted box of mixed nuts hanging around. I don't go to McDonalds ever. I loathe KFC and I think added sugar just tastes freaking gross and gritty.
but noooo, I have to be on steroids.
Oops, my agreement turned into a self-rant. Sorry!
