Diary of a hopeful loser

Day 1, 4.10pm - I've joined this forum today hoping for inspiration, or at least some way of convincing myself that I need to focus on losing weight. I need to get on with it, although even today thoughts of crisps and chocolate spin around in my mind, anyone would think I was starving, I think I'm starving, then I look at my waistline and realise I've got enough excess to last a trip across the sahara with water only, 32lbs of excess flab, that's like 64 packs of butter spare. Well, now I have reminded myself of that fact I guess I can survive without more fatty crisps and cheese at least til tomorrow!

HA! Funny! Just take things one day at a time Cates! I put up a 'fat' picture of myself on my fridge...maybe you can try that??

Trip across the Sahara with only water... hm, now that just might work! lol ;)

Just take it day by day Cate, if you mess up one day, just start over the next... and we always hope there aren't too many start-overs :p

You're right Beagle, one day at a time, and it's now around 8pm and I had spinach salad and low fat vegetarian sausages for dinner, I resisted the cheese but now I feel a bit peckish, I must be addicted to cheese because I could eat a half pound of gruyere right now, but no............I am going to lose that 32lbs.......the cheese can wait :p

Stopping by to say hello.....and doesnt eating all that cheese make you constipated?
And what are "crisps"?

Sorry it must be my English humour that has foxed you, I am exaggerating about the cheese and sorry I forgot that in America crisps = chips :)

Just take it one step at a time hun ... make some mini goals and stick to them, and rejoyce when you reach it!! :)

Day 2, 7.18am- I have had a nettle tea this morning and I am not at all hungry, yet, I will have breakfast at about 8.00am, I feel bloated and not happy with my blobby appearance, I was always the right weight for my height ..............until I had the children, and I want to be fit and lose the excess so I can keep up with being a mother without feeling so tired at the end of the day. I am carrying 2.4 stone extra, that's about the same weight as my little boy! I am stuck in a rut but I know I will feel great when the weight comes off.

2.14pm I have had a shapers tuna sand and resisted all tempation to eat chees or chocolate, although with halloween, there's all sorts of goodies calling me, but I want to be slim!

6.45pm I have had another chicken tikka shapers sandwich as I was getting a food panic............. then it was the childrens halloween tea...oh no, I had a large bite of my daughters toffee apple and then a sugar coated individual fairy cake ( with a ghost on it) and a fork full of mashed potato....... I've got to stop picking at the families food!!

Between meals I have had handfuls of pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds........maybe I could imagine they are sweets/candy?

I think I have a sugar and cheese addiction......... :(

I know what you mean about the goodies calling you... I think I hear Peanut Butter Cups calling me all the time!! lol I dont know if this helps or not but with Halloween and all I have been telling myself that the food ( candy) is alway's going to be around even though I can't have any of it now I will be able to one day!

Hey Cates, just wanted to say good luck on your weight loss journey. I read that you liked chips. Have you tried eating the Lays Baked Potato Chips? They are soooo delicious and only 1.5 grams of fat per serving no trans fat (i think) They sure do hit the spot! I get a bag about once a week. Or you can also try fat free pringles. Those are also great! Take care!

Day 3 - At work all day from early morning and then to art class in the evening, activity really helps my diet, I had a healthy breakfast , lunch and dinner lots of fresh, wholesome foods, so I know I have had a good day :) :) :)

Day 4
7pm--- hard day at work, managed to eat well, lots of salad no fatty stuff, really motivated by this site at the moment!!

You're doing great Cate, keep it up!! How often do you weigh yourself? It looks as though your ticker hasn't moved since you put it up... is that because you just haven't updated it, or you're stuck on a plateau (I was on one for almost a month!)

Hi Beagle,
I weigh myself everyday, I can't help it! However, I will only update myself on this forum every 7 days so I can see accurately whether or not I've lost weight as my weight can fluctuate from day to day. This week I have already lost 2lbs so far, and as it's a new diet I will probably lose most weight in this first week, that's what usually happens. I lost 2 stone with weight watchers and have been on a plateau for the last year! But at least i didn't regain any weight...I now feel ready to shed the last 2.4 stone and return to the weight I was before having children. Thanks for your encouragement Beagle!!
Cate :)

OOH another daily weigher..I do the same thing. Im addicted to that stupid thing! I try now to only do it weekly but its tough
Looks like your doing super though! good for you!
