Death does not become me......

Sorry to hear about the problems. Hope all is well today!

Thanks Dallen :) As each day passes, I'm getting better and better at dealing with the news.

I just saw this thread today.

Gotfit I'm very sorry to hear about all you are going through.

There is nothing worse then seeing a child suffer. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and lets hope the kid pulls through. I'm not sure I could be that strong if one of mine had something wrong like that.

Much appreciated :)

It is hard, and I am trying to keep positive and hope that this will work out for the best. I couldn't handle what she has gone thru....I readily admit it would have crushed me.

Thanks for the good thoughts and I'll let her know how much support has been expressed here for them both.

take care,
Diane

Well, heres an update....

things are....well they just are. Got a call, yeah another one, my sister is in the hospital now, she was getting pain in her leg, turned out she had a blood clot and not just in her leg, also in her lung. So she is in there until they figure out why (she is only 4 years older than me). Guess we are lucky it didn't make it to her heart, that is what got my dad.

As for my friend, her son was dx'ed with CDKL5. It is related to Retts syndrome. If you know anything about Retts syndrome, it is called a girls disorder because boys usually don't survive- they are either still born, or they die soon after birth.

This is very disconcerning. It is seperate from the brain surgery issue. [note: edited to add: the brain issue I have been speaking of is called Chiari malformation.]

I spoke with her today and she is hanging in there. I call it "survival mode" as she is not able to express her feelings because she is so focused on "what has to be done". I actually think that is better for her now.

My MIL is doing better, but still hospitalized.

heres an E-HUG

Aw, thanks Tony :)

I have dipped into my own "survival mode". Too much happening around me, doing what I can where I can.

We had to ditch the picnic, her son lost use of his arm because of the brain issue and can't risk it. So, I am heading to the house to bring them a fancy meal/picnic in the livingroom :D

They are trying to move up his surgery date....

take care,
Diane

Aw, hunny--I don't know what to say other than to offer support and let you know you, your family, and your friend and her little boy are all in my prayers.

Thank you sweetie :) That in and of itself is greatly appreciated!

Take care,
Diane
