Dan's Diary

It amazes me how much better I feel about myself already. Not so much physically, but mentally. I haven't had to worry if I will be able to fit into my clothes "this morning" for nearly a month now.

Two co-workers and I have decided to join the gym together and go in for pre-work workouts. It will be cool to have others as support. :)

It's great that you have other people to motivate you. :D Good luck with the gym.

Congrats on the weightloss!your doing great Dan, it does help when you have support, im looking forwards to seeing more of your progress! keep up the good work :)

Wow, you are doing so well!!! I know for me, if I had one bad day it would get me down and I'd end up having a bad two weeks, so good job staying on track after that!
I know what you mean about the 'psychological barrier,' mine is about 140. Going below that becomes twice as difficult, partly because that weight has been on for a loooong time and the longer the fat has been there, the harder it is to take off (or so I've heard).
Switching up your exercise routine will be good, don't make yourself do things you don't enjoy doing because you will give up on them sooner or later. If you don't really like walking, don't worry about it, find something else that you DO like!

I had a good week...until the last couple of days. Seems like my enthusiasm really tails off at the end of the day. I get up in the morning with all good plans...but have slipped everyday for the past 3 at least once. Anyway, I lost another pound this week!

Joining the gym is on hold till Thursday...payday. I need to add some more exercise to my day though, so I will figure out what that will be this week.

Than you all for your support. Keep up the good work and we will overcome! :)

hey there... i hadn't read your journal until today, but it looks like you have some great motivation and are doing great... remember, a pound is still a pound, so congrats on your weight loss this week. =)

You are doing very well. Wish I could say the same. It's good that you know even if you slip, you still keep going with the same intentions in mind. Good for you!

Well, I finally made it back to the forum! Things have been going good, despite a few slips. I actually gained a pound back last week, but instead of getting discouraged, it helped to spur me on to try harder. I finally joined the gym too, and have started on weights and cardio. The workouts have not been too intense; I figure if I overdo it I will get discouraged. But I have been consistent. I am limiting my trips to the gym to the days that I work (cause gas is sooo $ expensive now, I can hardly afford the 45 mile round trip to workout unless I can combine it with another trip). That still gets me there 5 times a week.

Though I am not able to see a difference in my appearance, I have noticed my clothes fitting better. And I dropped 2 lbs. this week That's a good feeling :).

Just a quick update to let you know I'm still out here and have not given up. My job (I LOVE IT!) is keeping me so busy, I have not had time to go online much. I hit this wicked plateau at 270 lbs. and decided to change to a ultra low carb diet combined with exercise. Seems like its working. I'll update my visit to the scales tomorrow. I hope you all are doing well. Miss you guys!

Sounds like you are on the right track, it helps when you post in your diary, helps keep you motivated, keep up the good work.
Shelley
