Thats why they recruited Beckham. Hoping he would draw huge popularity. Even baseball isnt what it used to be. I think football is becoming the main sport.

The biggest sports seem to be football and basketball. In my area, anyway. I'm sure hockey gets pretty popular the more you move north and baseball as you move east. Although baseball's popularity has taken hits in the last few years.

Yeah a lot of people like hockey up here, and baseball comes and goes depending on how good/bad the tigers are.

My sport really is rugby.

You have no idea how sexy that is :drooling1:
or are you just a supporter and a fan? I would love seeing you play rugby.. or maybe even play against you :D

being injured sucks. It's making me pretty emotional that I can't train. Cause then I have to think about other **** that is lame in my life. Lawlz.

Is soccer getting very popular in the US? Iv heard it is...

It's mostly popular with kids IMO.

The North American viewing public in general aren't keen on low scoring sports like soccer and the preponderance of ties in soccer seems counter-intuitive........Americans like ' winners '.;)

( and using something as stupid as shoot-outs to determine a winner in something as important as World Cup play every 4 years seems ridiculous to most North Americans as well IMO )

However, beyond the fact soccer is not commercial-TV-friendly, I think the main reason is soccer does not have wide -spread appeal is simply one of culture....the American culture embraces football, baseball and basketball..........soccer is just a marginal sport ( just like my favorite sport is in the U.S. ....hockey :( )

That said, our local Toronto pro soccer club ( that plays against Beckham ) is sold out for every home game ( a sell out is only 30,000 fans though ) and season tickets are impossible to find...pro soccer is s huge hit here in T.O.

No way, you live in toronto? I'm actually planning a trip there soon.

I'm on the ' outskirts ' of T.O. actually.......about the same distance Anne Arbor is from Detroit.

Toronto's a great city......I'm sure you'll have a great time here !

I was planning on getting her little 2 pound plastic dumbells for her birthday, but it didn't happen. We do things like squats and a few other things together. as soon as she gets bigger / i buy a little light weight I'll be teaching her some movements :D

I really want to have my kid do squats as he/she ages to preserve the mobility. Kids have good squatting mobility, but when they start sitting in furniture everything gets ruined. However, if one continues to use the squat the mobility will be preserved. I can't imagine how awesome it must be to be able to just sit down in a comfortable squat stance while waiting for the bus (if there's no bench) or while putting clothes in the washer, etc.

Yeah, we do stuff like that together. Erika def. got her strength/muscle from me and not her scrawny daddy lol. Even kids the same size as her have less shape / weigh a lot less than her, and she's pretty strong. She's going to be like me int hat respect, and that's a good thing.

If I get a son, let's hook 'em up! :p The age difference shouldn't be a problem, since he will learn some tricks from on how to get the older, more experienced ladies ;) :D
