Codi is Back!!

Who the hell is Codi? Well, I became a member a while back, I think in 2006 and got busy with life I suppose. Now I am back. I will graduate from college in 9 weeks, which will allow so much more time to get busy with weight training.

Until then, I am making better food choices and trying to at least walk on the treadmill (at my house) when I have "spare" time. Usually I am getting up at 3 or 4am and studying a few hours before work, I work 45 hours per week, and go to class 6 hours per week plus an online course. Anyhoo, the fact is that right now I am needing to do good with just sticking to a healthy diet and walking when I can until I graduate. After that I can incorporate some action!

Stats:
Female

Welcome back, Codi.

I wish you the best of luck with your personal goals.

Best regards,

Goals:
Short-term: Going on week two actually, no sodas, no fast food, no vending machine junk.
Long-term: To be fit for life!

Each week I will add something small to change for my short term goals. Doing good so far. This past year to two years I have really gone all out with eating bad and not caring. Aaaahhhhh...just had a 15 minute shoulder/back/neck massage at work. We have a massage therapist come in every friday and you can sign up for however long, $1 per minute.

Monday Blues

Man, I got caught up with my sleep last night thats for sure, now I feel super tired.

Had a sister's bday celebration on saturday night, only 1 glass of red wine and 1 mexican martini, but we pigged out on candy!! damn!

So now I feel nasty inside because of the candy splurge saturday night. Will try to eat "clean" this week so i can feel better.

9 more weeks of school left before I graduate!!!! :jumping:

This morning:
whole grain cherrios with fat free organic milk, vitamins, glass of pomegranite juice.

plan for lunch: turkey sandwich with 12 grain bread and spinach leaves and fat free cheese slice.
plan for snack: apple

My work is so boring sometimes, I got this new job at the same place I was working before, so Im making more money YAY! but its like a rollercoaster when it comes to the work I do. One day its super busy, the next its super dead. But it seems there have been more super dead days than I wanted. So, I spend a lot of time online at this site and researching about staying healthy and whatnot.

I bought some organic whole grain bread yesterday at the store, cant wait to try it, it seems to be extremely healthy with great looking ingredients. Im going to try to stop eating deli meat and eat tuna salad on bread or chicken in a can on bread instead.

When I dont work out, I dont eat as much during the day so its hard to eat the 5-6 meals per day even though they are small.

Just blabbing away on my journal because Im having another boring day at work.

Breakfast - whole grain cherrios with blueberries, fat free organic milk, glass of pomegranitte juice, vitamins.

PLAN: Lunch: turkey sandwich with spinach leaves, jalepenos, fat free slice of cheese.
PLAN: snack: apple
PLAN: Dinner: leftover chinese food with no rice (beef and broccoli and carrots)

I have been drinking LOTS of water!!!!

Wednesday -
:animal:

Man! Another boring day at work. My job isn't bad, just boring, hard to look forward to coming to work every day when I will be doing nothing! What a waste of life, but of course I need the money to pay bills to live life. What a fun little circle.

Today is my last class of strategic management, what a boring class! I will leave this subject up to the people who enjoy this stuff. I will be starting a Japan class next week, not learning to speak it, just learning about the culture. I'll also be starting a Administration of Justice class, learning about the justice system, I enjoy that!

Breakfast: whole grain cherrios with blueberries and fat free organic milk, cup of pomegrannette juice.

plan: lunch: kashi 7 grain crackers with chicken salad
plan: snack: apple, granola bar
plan: dinner: slim fast (going straight from work to class, class ends at 9pm)

Today I am going to an annual happy hour that my work sets up at an AED's house, I am encouraged by the boss to go. Must mingle with important people. I had fast food after class last night....ugh! i was starving at 9pm! so of course when my sister asks if I am hungry, I am vulnerable to anything! oh well, i will try to ignore it and move on with my healthy meals today.

breakfast: whole grain cherrios with blueberries, fat free milk, cup of pomegranette juice.
snack: kashi granola bar
lunch: chicken salad with kashi crackers, 4 cherry tomatoes
snack: apple
dinner: happy hour with appetizers

Good luck on your fitness goals.

Man! No fair! That would be awesome to get free massages, so you must go every day huh? or every day they offer it? Lucky you!

My degree is in Business Management. I call it the generic degree because it is useful all around in my opinion. I work in the insurance industry so it will be very useful. Probably, for now, I will keep my current job doing workers' compensation and unemployment comp underwriting....seems to be interesting so far.

Today....I want to work out on the treadmill this evening after work and after I grocery shop. Need to restock on fruits and breakfast stuff.

I weighed in at 126.2 this morning. Not bad, but 1/2 a pound heavier than last week. Im not surprised though, I did not eat super great. of course with no exercise either!

Breakfast: most of an apple with peanut butter. cup of pomegrannette juice.

plan: snack - kashi granola bar

no plan for lunch yet, will go to whole foods (healthy store) and get something. totally ran out of stuff to eat at home.

plan: dinner: frozen pre-made pasta. I know its not super healthy but so easy to make when busy with school!

That is badass. You have strong will power :D

Ha, I wish it was every day. Just once every other week, but still nice.

I hear ya on the degree. Business is great because it can be useful for almost everything. Glad you enjoy your job. It's a nice thing! :D

Lunch: grabbed some healthy snacks at the health food store:
carrots and broccoli with hummus, cherry tomatoes, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, pineapple.
Dinner: pasta with chicken or shrimp

Man, I tried to pop my pinky finger joint earlier today and now it hurts when I bend it. Ughh....maybe it will go away.

Pinky finger joint has healed! I have never broken a bone in my body thank goodness....

Monday, Monday, Monday....

breakfast: kashi cereal with blueberries, fat free milk, cup of pomegranette juice.

lunch: will be provided by my work today...probably a sandwich.

snack: apple

dinner: grilled asparagus, grilled okra, leftover pasta (noodles, shrimp, peas, peppers).

Haven't loggeed on here in about 20 days. ugh. been eating unhealthy and not just because of halloween. i know that working out will really benefit me, its just so hard trying to stick with it. i keep blaming it on too much school work, which is true most days out of the week but there are a couple of days i could be working out. dang it!

breakfast: kashi cereal with ff milk
snack: kashi granola bar
lunch: ww + wg sandwich, spinach lettuce, cheese, turkey

plan:
snack: apple/grapes
dinner: taco salad (cow meat/taco seasoning/lettuce/sour cream/salsa/cheese/tortilla chips)

Monday

Well, I am done with undergrad!!! I graduate on Saturday morning and will celebrate in the evening. I just started working out again yesterday and today. Taking it very slow. Will stick to only cardio for now. For those who may read my journal, my exercises will seem really pathetic which you are right, they are because i have been so freaking out of shape its unreal! But Im on my journey back to being in shape and eating healthy. One step at a time.

Sunday: walked swiftly 5 miles.
By the way i went to a new park near my house and it was saying (online) how there is a hike and bike trail and all this other stuff. Well, i was only interested in the hike and bike trail. WTF?!! Thats quite the most retarded small trail i have ever seen! maybe its not finished yet, but it said it was done in summer 2008!! oh well, new park next weekend.

Monday: walked swiftly 2 miles. My freaking hips and feet are sore!! yes, i sit on my bum 45 hours a week!! so im thinking i may start jogging a tiny bit later in the week, but may put it off until next week so i can get used to the exercise and not injure myself.

Breakfast: don't try this at home: oatmeal with fresh blueberries in it. sick! i thought i had a genius idea, but its so gross with bb's. will stick to my plain oatmeal with a bit of honey and fat free milk. glass of pomegranette juice.

snack: peanut butter granola bar

lunch: cup of instant soup, cheap meal, packed with sodium, i know, not the heathliest. im super broke after christmas shopping!!

i ate grilled chicken with red and yellow bell peppers and asparagus and beans last night....mmmm!

tonight i will have 1/2 filet mignon, corn on the cob, and some veggies.

A few suggestions come to mind... depending how anal retentive you are, you might want to time your walks so you could have something you could actually have a notion of progress/regress about. That is, walking 5 miles in an hour is better than 5 miles in 75 minutes.

Nutrition-wise - drop the promegranate juice in favor of a real piece of fruit. Less calories and more nutrients that way. Also, if you've not tried steel cut oats, that might be an option - they take longer to digest than the steamed and rolled old-fashion oats, so will keep you fuller longer.

You're super broke and are having filet mignon? (Even if it's half of one?) :)

Keep up the good work.
