Sport Chocolate Milk after a Run

Sport Fitness
"Eating more dark chocolate can help lower blood pressure -- if you've reached a certain age and have mild high blood pressure, say the researchers. But you have to balance the extra calories by eating less of other things."

"Antioxidants gobble up free radicals, destructive molecules that are implicated in heart disease and other ailments.

"Our findings indicate that milk may interfere with the absorption of antioxidants from chocolate ... and may therefore negate the potential health benefits that can be derived from eating moderate amounts of dark chocolate."

Translation: Say "Dark, please," when ordering at the chocolate counter. Don't even think of washing it down with milk. And if health is your excuse for eating chocolate, remember the word "moderate" as you nibble."

Dark Chocolate Is Healthy Chocolate

I've been looking into a diet that calls for 1 ounce of dark chocolate a day. It's aimed at enhancing libido in women. It seems to be working so far...

Chocolate is good for many different things.

But why chocolate?

Why not plain milk. Why even take fructose when its better to take dextrose?

I don't know if they compared it to plain milk. I don't feel like reading it LOL, but here is the whole study:

I believe it was the typical sugary chocolate milk most of us are familiar with

ooo, that sounds nice, chocolate milk would certainly be a nice treat after a workout. You could make it better by adding protein powder though

I don't see chocolate milk as part of a healthy lifestyle. If you are choosing a complicated path toward a certain type of body shape/composition, I still vote no chocolate milk.

If your goal is overall health and fitness, eat whole foods frequently, and in moderate portions. Combine this with regular exercise and you're good to go.
