My B-day and my sons B-day are only three days part (Dustin: August 28th, 23 yoa), and we celebrate both on the 25th.
For the passed 21 years, we have been saving a paper clipping dated
August 17th, 1987, that has a front page photo of him fishing with his mother while sucking on a bobber (he was 18 months old at the time, approximately

).
The photo was taken because at the time the city was debating spending some money to renovate the dam and surrounding lake to better accomodate fishing for the community.
He recently purchased a boat and goes fishing every weekend with his friends, and loves it: Buy a fish. Eat for a day. Teach a child to fish and the eat for life. We spark LIFE! YEP.....
So we framed it tonight and gave it to him as a present. To us, its a priceless front page photo coupled with important history. It mentions the president at the time, and Reagan making comments about the Berlin wall. He was touched when he received the gift.
I thought I would share that.
Here is a pic of it:
Edit: Yes, that's me in the back ground shadow reflecting off the glass (in sweats, lol)
I really do appreciate your post comments. Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Chillen
