Charlie Sheen...Self destructive???

What do you guys think??? Is Charlie misunderstood or headed down a dangerous path??
Misunderstood? I don't know... I have enough of my own problems. Then again, I don't ever really try to understand celebs. I really just don't get the whole celebrity worship thing. I think of it as a kind of cultural disease. When my GF asks me if I'd heard about this or that.. I ask.... Why is it any of our business? Wouldn't it bother you if Charlie Sheen knew about your drinking problem? (no, she doesn't have a drinking problem, it's just a rhetorical question)
He's rich enough that he can buy a quick path in to health, physical fitness, and mental well-being in a ridiculously short amount of time compared to most of us. That's why I don't feel sorry for any of them. Got problems? GO SEE YOUR SHRINK! or visit some sort of "fitness resort" Or book a meeting with the Dalai Lama or the Pope, or Deepak Chopra, or Jillian Michaels or whoever else the rest of us will never have access to.
OR... he can buy his way into a world of STD and drug addictions.
What ever suits him is fine with me, and the later makes much better journalism, and is probably better for the economy. (Yes, it's a jaded point of view, but it's true also, isn't it?)

After reading this.. he's neither. He's just a megalomaniac who's convinced it's right to indulge every iniquity under the sun.
Well. He might be headed down dangerous path, but he's not self-destructive. He loves doing stupid stuff too much to change.
It doesn't really seemed like rehab helped him much, did it? It might be that he's no longer physically addicted to whatever, but he can't keep seem to wrap his head around the idea of abstinence from chemicals and/or alcohol. I think what he really needs is a 12 step program. But you have to want it. You can't make anyone want anything. Not even in rehab.
His situation is analogous to a really fat person who goes in for liposuction, but then gets a supersized meal at McDonald's on his way home.

Totally agree with Monster. :iagree:

Especially the first part about not getting the celebrity worshipping. Who cares? They do what they want to do, not my business. They don't care about me either, so....yeah. Whatever.

Actually,.... Jodie Foster told me she cares about me,... in my dreams..... in my thoughts... in secret messages to me in interviews..... That's why I shot Ronald Rea...
Oh... oops... that was someone else..... :smilielol5:

Yeah I really don't care about celebrities much either unless I have some kind of physical fixation towards them ;) The thing that sucks about Charlie Sheen is that lately everywhere I go, someone or something is talking about him, so there's not much I can do to avoid it. He's starting to remind me of a male Anna Nicole Smith, Lord rest her soul. I don't think there is any other way to justify his behavior other than self destructive.

Did you know Charlie once spent $30,000 on a hooker for one weekend? Give ME some dough, dude!

LOL dude have you seen gas prices lately o_O We're about to start paying what Europeans pay for petro....

Anyway, I doubt I have the "qualifications" to meet Charlie's interests ^_^

Charlie is the show, and the show has made a lot of people a lot of money...including him. He was getting paid $1.8 Mil per episode...keep your mouth shut and show up for work and milk it as long as you can. Only an idiot would screw that up. At this point, both sides just need to sue eath other and let the lawyers and judge hash it out. In that scenario, the lawyers end up making a lot of money off of both sides. Realistically, Charlie's "stock price" is at its highest right now. If the show continues, it will flop and another network will pick him up and make a new show loosely based on him and it will be a success and he and they will make millions.

I agree with Monster also. I have to say though that despite his lifestyle and pretty out there way of looking at things, I find him and his way of delivering himself to the world as quite interesting. It takes all kinds of different people to make the world a colourful place and he's sure got his paintbrush out lol.

Is that what you call it? His "paintbrush?" HE HE HE!!!

The real question is ..... Why did they cancel his show?
I've never watched it, don't care what it's about,
However, this Charlie Sheen media frenzy is a marketer's biggest wet dream.
Like they say "you can't buy this kind of advertising"

everwhere i turn lately charlie sheen is bloody there, i dont think tv shows should be interviewing him when clearly he needs some kind of intervention, i just feel really sorry for his children!

Yeah, must be horrible growing up with money stuffed into every orifice and not lacking anything.:nopity:

You do realise that the whole thing is PR? Celebs do what makes them the most money. And even I know that CS has mentioned time and time again that he was fed up with that stupid show (whatever it's called). Now he's managed to get out of the contract, and he's making money out of the publicity stunt he's pulling.

Not sure what's more sad - the fact that he's chosen the 'boozing porn star shagging drug addict' - routine, or that people actually still fall for it.

Mature, stable and responsible adults as parents are great. Try eating them though if there's no money for food, or let them try to get medical care for free if they can't afford to pay for it.

And I didn't describe him - I described the PR stunt he's pulling. Biiiig difference.

Who knows what's going on behind closed doors anyway. People see what they want to, and believe what they are led to believe.

How did Michael Jackson's daughter (who's an apparently healthy, happy, rather intelligent young lady, despite her 'weird' father) so eloquently say?

'You might have known Michael Jackson, but you know nothing about my Dad!'
