Weight-Loss Carbonated Water

Weight-Loss
Hi all

I was just wondering if there are any adverse effects of drinking carbonated (fizzy) water?

I don't really like plain water (unless I'm very thirsty) and quite enjoy carbonated weater with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

I imagine it's the same as drinking normall still water but would appreciate a definite answer.

Cheers

No..it's just gas added to the water. It would just pass through your body. Watch for those waters that has added items.

But just carbonated water? nope. nothing wrong with that.

Carbonated how?

If its naturally carbonated from a spring then fine. But if tis had added phosphoric acid (think thats what its called) this can leech calcium from your bones and teeth and is no good for your enamel, tooth decay (which can lead to heat disease) and osteoperosis in old age.

But the odd glass here and there wont hurt you- everything is fine in moderation.

I drink Perrier and Pellegrino, I doubt they are naturally carbonated as there is quite a lot of bubbles in them. They are so good cold. :(

Well although its still harmful, its less harmful then sugary (or even worse, diet) fizzy drinks which have added acids in the sugar syrups or diet syrups that are added. This combined with the bubble action smashing against your teeth plus the acids in the stuff that makes if fizz are what cause damage. If your having fizzy wter with nothing in it then your already at an advantage so don't worry too much! If its any consolation, although I have managed to limit myself (water by day, diet fizzy stuff at night) I do drink alot of diet lemonade!

And on my attempts to find you a few naturally carbonated examples, I have infact fond evidence that even naturally carbonated water can have negative effects! We just can't win!

I can though say for sure that all things we eat are acidic- even milk. Though not as much acid (PH 6.7 or something) its still not neutral, so don't overly worry yourself!
