British Airports

Yup, been watching the events as they happen all morning.

have you all heard that you can't carry liquid on airplanes anymore. sheesh i didn't know my drinking water could destroy an airplane!

Its because they arrested some people who had two clear liquids - which when poured together (half a bottle each of a bottle of water size) would be powerful enough to blow up a 747.

It looks and smells like water apparently, so nothing for anyone on board.

then make people prove its water, drinking it in front of security would definately show that its not an explosive liquid, just dont take my water away from me.

I think that for MY safety I would be willing to forgo carrying my water...I'm sure I can get some on the plane or when getting off...

Holly crap.
Its 5.30pm here and I had to find this out from a forum!!! I really should Turn on my TV sometimes.

Well its good that we got them. Ive not found out how they did it yet.

i'm sorry guys, i didn't meant to sound like an ass, i'm having a really bad day at work and i guess my anger/frustration is spilling out. i'm all for being safe on an airplane, but there are limits...

Thats cool scuba. Its a really hard thing for the governments and airports. Cos Every one is effected and hate the airport for it. but at the end of the day its the same as when ur perents used to make you come home before dark. You hate them for it, but its for ur own good. Its most likely that nothing will ever happen but in the instance that it could they would be blamed.

Anyway you shouldnt have to take water on a plane if the service is good. Its frustraiting tho as I would drink 3ltrs of water on an 8 hour flight, which is about 15 of thoes cups they give you.

it just gets tough when all the america airlines cut back on onboard services to keep operating costs down. i flew from san antonio, texas to chicago in may, i barely got a drink on that flight. thats about 2.5 hours long. i guess there is nothing stopping me from taking an empty bottle with me through security and filling it on the other side. but i still think that the tsa (security) firms/government should spend more money on developing equipment to pick up explosive compounds. the big machines that scan checked baggage already do that. i know its all for our own good, but the only way to be totally safe is to have a security officer physically open and check every bag, and to give every passenger a frisking. but that is cost and time prohibitive...

Yes, they have been allowing milk bottles only if mothers were ready to drink it in front of security.

Well I'd rather pay more for my ticket and wait arround for an extra hour than get blown up.

Anybody else?

Yup....besides I'm not THAT important that I can't sit for an extra hour before my flight. I take it as part of traveling...lots of waiting around, people snooping in your bag. I bring a book or my portable dvd plaer. And I like to people watch so...

this whole situation is so sad, its getting scarrier and scarrier to fly now. actually it might be a crazy suggestion and almost not very practical, but its not a bad idea to have the people drink the "water" to test it out.

Geeze!!!!!! I just found out hat there were 21 ppl involved in 10 planes!

the youngest was 17 and most of them were British. Some of them were converts and are white British.
I cant believe that. This stuff is getting so crazy. Its not just Crazy ppl from the middle east, its Bristish men, and it could be anyone. Those crazy guys have really done a number of us in the west.

Im going to China for Xmas to stay with a mate. I was gonna fly out on Xmas day cos its 250pound cheaper. But I cant bring myself to go on an important Christian holiday. So I payed the extra 250 and am flying out on the 23rd.

yeah thats really sad when its ur own that are turning on u so to speak...
next summer we wanna take our baby to russia to visit my family there, and im terrified to fly with him because of all the crazy crap thats going on nowadays.

and this september to make matters worse my grandparents that are flying out here to visit me are flying back on sept. 11th, im gonna be a nervous wreck until they get back home and call me.

u know what i just thought of...they arent allowing liquids now, but what about powders, i mean these people are crazy im sure they can think of a powder that can become explosive...

lol i realize that the last few posts ive made tonight have made me look absolutely retarted, and i appoligize, however i did not mean gun powder for this one :p i just meant like another type of explosive powder, which can be hidden in make up powders and such. however, after posting i turned on the news and saw that make up was one of the things listed as no longer allowed for carry on items.
