WOW I feel ya--been single for 11 months and yeah, "relationships" scare the hell out of me! 
I'm probably the most commitment shy person you've ever met because my heart is way too soft and I like to protect it. So when my BF asked me out (and we're almost living together now), it blew me away that he got through to my heart so quickly and so deeply.
I think I'm not freaked out by our relationship because we just work so well together. Like salt and pepper or vodka and tonic
It just feels right. I've never felt so close to anybody. He's like an extension of me. It's just so weird because I thought I'd never find anybody who understood me better than I understood myself. He does. And he still likes me

Not sure if its the right thing to do, to pull away. But when one is ready the time will come, specially when you don't expect it.
