Bodybuilder girl.

I have no resentment for her at all. I just think she looks goofy posing and smiling like that after every exercise (though I'm perfectly aware this is just sensible when one is a competing bodybuilder). I also feel that women possessing that level of muscularity are unattractive, but then again, taste is a personal thing. I'm not sure the fact that I look like a muffin and she looks like a greek god has anything to do with it, really. I do admire her dedication immensely.

But is it narrow-minded, or a jab at her, to not write "goddess" above? No, not really, I don't think. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying that you don't have a right to question the role of gendered prejudices. It's just that I don't feel that I should have to overlook (or refrain from remarking upon) what I feel are the potential negatives of nonconformity to a socially agreed upon and constructed conduct and the meaning/value that our particular culture assigns to it, just because it might hurt someone's feelings.

So, yeah, all's I'm sayin' is that conformity doesn't necessarily correlate with "poor judgement"/"jealousy"/whatever.

Have you seen me be a jerk to you around the site? No. Have you seen me say something to ANYONE even "friends" when they make sexist or homophobic comments? Absolutely.

lol this is your way of being a jerk....no one els seems to of cared!

You have a nonstandard definition of "seeming". The majority of the replies to this thread have criticized your view either directly or indirectly. The only difference is that she has stated her objections explicitly and referenced past conduct.

Does anyone know whether she took any steroids/HGH/Testosterone? Has she got a deep masculine voice or is her voice feminine? If she got to that size, kudos but if she took somethin, being from the anti-roid brigade (Malkore I'm waiting for you to answer my PM) I don't condone it.

Perhaps my question has been answered in this post by theleip

didn't get your original PM tribal. I will say that I'm not a big fan of steroid use, mostly because it so often becomes 'abuse' of the substance.

I try not to judge people negatively if they only have one or two minor 'flaws'. I myself have tried the legal pro-hormones and pro-steroids years ago before the FDA banned them.

I don't ever see myself using anabolic steroids, HGH, etc. I prefer to achieve things on my own.

...but of course if she likes it she shouldn't care what I think

I also agree with this comment. That being said, this woman is not attractive AT ALL.

We can praise her all day for her dedication, discipline bla bla and that's fine but we can also talk about how she looks and that's equally fine. Forming an opinion about whether someone is attractive is an inherent part of being a human being not to mention that she's a freakin' bodybuilder - she chose a career inviting people to look at her body and to form opinions about how she looks. She's fully aware that society isn't attracted to this "look." We can talk about attractive people all day and if there was some ugly ass runway model, I'm pretty sure that a lot of people would have no problem saying so.

I have no problem saying that this bodybuilder ain't cute. In so doing, I think I'm being more respectful than someone who won't admit it just because they are afraid of seeming judgmental. Who cares, our subjective opinions about attractiveness are just opinions but opinions that we naturally think and feel about every single human being we see. We aren't bad people for being honest. We can't and shouldn't suppress our feelings and impressions of whether we think someone is physically attractive. It is what it is, nothing more.

I also don't admire her or respect her but instead, I feel indifferent. I couldn't watch the video, I haven't read any articles and I don't know this woman so my only impression comes from her pictures. But, of course, I realize that at the end of the day, my opinion means nothing.

As CCR said, she's living her dream. The fact that some people find her unattractive just means that some people find her unattractive. If we don't read any more into it, then it won't mean anything more.

Edit: I just want to clarify that I'm talking about a particular context within the realm of reasonableness. I don't think it's appropriate to go around telling people that they're fugly or that it's always ok to just say your opinion when it would clearly be out of line.

I couldn't see this video but I saw others where she was even arm-wrestling with a muscular dude. How come Hollywood has not yet made her famous or does Hollywood "frown upon" female bodybuilders?

Well, let me ask you this, tribal, have you ever seen a female bodybuilder in a movie or on television, outside of a documentary, or worse, a Christina Aguilera video?

Oh, hmm, I guess there was Chyna (aka Joanie Laurer). Okay, other than the WWF, also. In her case, her career took a swift nosedive after she left the WWF. She was on Celebrity Rehab I think. She progressed there from The Surreal Life. Kind of sad, really.

Hollywood rarely accept male bodybuilders into their elite. Female bodybuilders are even less accepted.
