Best Fitness Programs?

I've been looking for something to increase my motivation lately and keep me moving...I ran across something called PUSH - has anyone heard about it? It's almost like a Netflix fitness service. You provide information about your weight, goals, etc and each month you receive a customized DVD with a cardio program as well as two personal training sessions. Has anyone heard about it? I was thinking about signing up since it's only $25 per month.

So you're going to pay $25 a month for the rest of your life? You have to learn to target the problem where it starts - in your head. Read these forums THOROUGHLY and ask lots of questions. You'll find you're training yourself to eat and live better, and that's something that sticks with you for life.

I haven't heard anything about this PUSH program but sometimes you just need a jumpstart. I don't think she'll have to subscribe to it forever. Anyway, I plan on paying $25-35 a month for the rest of my life for a gym membership.

I say try it out! Whatever works for you. :)

WhoaAAAAAA!!!!! stop! Dont do it.

If your gonna spend all that money for someone to tell you "just the bits you need to know" you may as well payout and do a gym instructors course.

thats $300 a year. You could buy all the best books and learn it all your self. I would not say that you can learn everything from this forum, Its more a place where you get a bit of help. Deff buy the books yourself and learn it!!!!

If your rich and have money to throw away give it to a good cause not a con-artist fitness company.

Thanks for the response. teresand77 is right, I'm looking for something different to jumpstart me into enjoying a fitness program. I actually don't think $25 is a lot. Most gym memberships are $50 per month and that excludes initiation fees of $100. Plus, I was reading up on the PUSH program and the trainer walks you through exercises. That's nice because it ensures that I'll do all the reps and the exercises change every two weeks. I have read numerous fitness books and have taken tips from friends, experts, etc, but this feels kind of like a partner who will help keep me going when I want to quit :) I think I might try this.

Let us know how it goes. Being a group fitness instructor I always think that anything that gets people moving is a good thing. If you don't like it you can always unsubscribe, right?

If it gets you going... do it. I look at things like this as an investment in yourself. As others have said... if it stops motivating you or if you do not want it anymore... cancel.

It's not a bad idea.. all of the same information (and way more) you need are on these forums for free though. I'm the type that chooses to research rather than watch a movie that tells me about things.

thanks, I agree with you about finding information on this forum. I trust everyone's advice and input. It's a great community :)

I signed up and it's on a monthly basis, so I can unsubscribe. The other option is to try a different trainer or cardio session if I'm not enjoying the program. But I think it will give me the jumpstart I need and I added that I have knee problems so some of the exercises will be revised so I don't aggrevate my injuries which is nice.

So I received my first DVD. At the time I didn't think the personal training session was too intense, but I felt it everywhere the next day. I liked some of the moves that worked different ab and butt muscles.

The cardio session was pretty good, but I think I want to switch it up for kickboxing next month...I'm a clutz when it comes to dancing so it took me a while to get the dance moves down. The good part was that the cardio trainer told you how to slow the work out down or speed it up to make it more difficult.

That actually sounds really fun to me!! Did you use hand weights for the personal training session? Do they tell you in advance what type of equipment you'll need?

My training session didn't use any equipment. Basically, when you first sign up for the program they ask you if you have any exercise equipment and what you would like to use (such as the flexibility ball, weights, etc.) You can change your profile on the PUSH website so if you get any equipment, you note that and they will customize your future workout sessions to use whatever equipment you need.

Also, each DVD has two workout sessions with your trainer...you do the first one for two weeks and then the second one for the last two weeks of the month. Also, when you get your first DVD they give you two flexibility bands with it.

I'm enjoying the program so far. You can sign up month by month so there's no long term committment if anyone is interested in trying it out.
