Then of course, as the body changed, my better half started getting more interested in "extracurricular" activities! Now THIS might kill me, but I'm taking my chances.
Okay, two of the biggest motivators right there. I don't suggest the first, but the second one is a whole lot of fun! Of course, building on success is a great motivator in itself. As we get into ever better condition, the little tweaks here and there start to show big payoffs, and that really helps with the long term encouragement. It's also very nice to have people around that support us. I know that my wife is often sacrificing in order for me to keep the workout schedule, and "weird" nutritional practices. If she was one to complain about these things, it would make life a lot more difficult.
Every once in a while she'll hit the gym when I do, and she likes to show me how such a petite little thing can have such powerful legs. If I had her calves, I'd be much happier man.
