Beginning of a Long Road - ^wG

Just an update to say that I wont post again for another month, since everything will be the same.

Hopefully some progress to report next time.

Thanks for the help so far.

no point in running up a hill, try running for distance

Well, it's been quite some time since I last posted. So I thought I'd update you :)

My workouts have only increased in performance, weight has gone up, reps have increased and I am seeing noticeable differences all over my arms and also my traps.

One thing that hasn't gone so well is my weight loss, I actually started at around 196-198 (got some proper scales) and I am now 189ish... to me that isn't very much, so I have tweaked my diet a lot, I am now compensating snacks or even whole meals for fruit salad's and blended smoothies (unsaturated fats, essential vitamins, protein).

I have also got myself a water filter, so my water now tastes much cleaner and less acidic (or whatever it is) so that has encouraged me to drink more water (trying to get 2-4litres in a day).

As for exercise, hmm... I am having major troubles with my left leg, for 2 months now my upper shin and calf is really hurting, some days its fine, other days I can barely put weight on it (planning on getting it checked out). However, it's not all bad, I have started jogging/running, it's not very long, but by the end of it I am out of breath and drained totally. I am also working on increasing the distance, every 2days I add more and more onto my distance.

Quick update, getting stronger, weight is increasing... all that jazz.

My only problem is cardio, I am really struggling with HIIT, I tried it but I am just not fit enough to do it, it's kind of upsetting to see other people running for miles when I struggle to run round the bloody block :/

Increased cardio, running daily, with 1 or 2 days off a week.

Going to cut down my carb intake to just 2 slices of brown bread daily, no more potatoes, pasta or anything high in carb. I will do this for 2 weeks to see any change in weight loss.

Could you break down your calories (including deficits) and macros, and how long you have been dieting to lose: 7 to 9 pounds?

Best wishes,

Really successful couple days, food temptation has been minimal, running distance is increasing. It sounds ridiculous, but I feel like I can run so much longer now, as if my body is in control of my mind, not the flip reverse. The "lets stop, I am so tired" thoughts creeping at the back of my head are stopping... meh, maybe it's just a lucky couple of days and I am overlooking it.

(question: is running at night ok? I don't make a habit of it, just the odd couple of days... some alone time, refreshing :p)

Same as usual, distance increasing and pain in leg not getting any better, considering getting it checked out.

Bought myself some new adjustable dumbbell's and pull-up bar.

That's pretty much all at the moment.

Calorie deficit

Typical day

Had to custom most of the food, since the search engine is pathetic. I only counted up the calories of the food, the protein/carbs/fat/saturated etc. aren't all on there (majority)

Just a rough guideline of calorie intake, if it's required, I can make a much more detailed description.

*Give or take, 1800-2000 calories*

Stopped cardio training for 2 weeks now. I have found out that I have developed "shin split(s)" on my right leg due to poor technique; according to my trainer (helps me out with information) I am slapping my feet whilst running, and all the pressure is locked up my leg from landing on my heels.

In addition to this, I found out that I have flat feet, so I set out to buy myself some insoles, ordered some with arches to help the structure of my feet.

Getting really bored of hurting myself, lol. Nearly broke my ankle, couldn't train for another week. Week passes, in addition to my ankle, I then badly cut up my left fingers, all the bones are swollen and my nails are purple.

So I cannot run or weight train -,-
