Beagle's New Journal

Oh man, I just decided I didn't like the title of my last journal at all, so I'm starting a new one now. That and I've decided that last week just didn't happen at all I was so bad! >< So I'm starting over.

High weight - 210lbs
Low weight - 170lbs
Current weight - 194lbs
Current goal - 190lbs
Ultimate goal - 150lbs.

Saturday:
Breakfast - Bacon and Egg bagel - 550
Snack - small caesar salad - 200
Lunch - chicken breast and a couple slices of cheese - 300+150=450
Snack - garden salad w/cheese and ranch dressing - 200
Dinner - english muffin w/butter - 150
Total - 1500! Whew that was close!

Also, holy dang my thighs hurt! I went bowling last night, not even for that long (like an hour and a half), and all the way up the back of my thigh and my butt and my hip all hurt like heck. My fingers a little too. I didn't realize it was such a muscle work out! Not much calorie burning though, I bet :p

hey there sweetie! hehehe... no more dog food for you! =)

good luck with your goals!!! (and bowling does hurt!!!)

So first day done, and I just barely squeaked under my 1500 goal! I possibly had a little less because I've been overestimating on purpose rather than underestimating. I was so freakin' tired at work today though, I had to have a bottle of diet pepsi for the caffine... 4 hours of sleep will do that to you. That'll teach me for thinking I can get away with late night TV the night before I gotta be up at 5 ;)

For anyone that is interested, my total birthday stash was as follows:
- a fish and all the necessary equipment (the first one died within a couple of days, musta been sick when I bought him, so I managed to exchange him for one that seems much less... dead)
- a gift certificate for driving lessons that I plan on taking after the winter is done, and then GASP getting my liscense.
- A Shot Glass Chess Board and a bottle of Hot Sex (I don't actually like that particular liquer, but I wasn't about to say that) - I've played four games with my brother so far, once was Orange Juice vs. Fanta, and then Diet Pepsi vs Mountain Dew, and a couple empty games. He's pretty good for a 13 year old! Beat me twice!
- tomorrow my mom is buying me a scale with a digital readout so I more precise in my weighings, and also a card table to do my homework on because my computer takes up my entire tiny desk.

As long as you had a great birthday is what counts! Can you believe I've only been bowling one time and that was about 16 years ago! I didn't know bowling would work all those muscles! I might have to join a league! lol.. I hope your having a good weekend!

Sunday - I'm not religious, but I love my day of rest ;) Haven't had a single reason to change out of my pj's all day!

Breakfast - bowl of Life cereal - 150
Lunch - can of ravioli - 500
Snack - plain chips and onion dip - 250
Dinner - Fettucini alfredo - 1000
Total - 1900

Eek, I didn't realize the pasta was worth so much and I didn't even have that much!

Weigh-in is tomorrow... given the bad week I had last week and today, I'm not too optimistic :(

Hey Sweetcheeks I was looking for your darn journal...LOL. Glad you didnt leave us I got worried. Dont get discouraged about the fettucinni. Wasnt too bad really you could of done worse...like me...LOL. Anyway sweetie hope you have a good day today!!

Awwwww crap I slept in again and missed the only class I had today. Didn't miss anything big, its just annoying.

Breakfast - apple - 100
Lunch - chicken noodle soup - 250
Snack - small reese's blizzard - 600
Dinner - baby carrots and ranch dip - 400
Total: 1350

I hate myself sometimes when I make stupid decisions like getting a blizzard when I could have easily gone for a frozen yogurt or something much less harmful to my diet, and my self-esteem ultimately. Thankfully the day was still salvagable.

Monday weigh in (with my new digital scale!): 196.2

I'm not sure if this is because my analog scale was so hard to read I gave myself the benefit of the doubt, or if its because I put on a full two pounds in a week. Maybe its a little of both...

Mornin Sweetie. I'm scared of those digital scales, afraid of it saying I weigh more..LOL. Anyway darlin one blizzard wont kill you you have been doing amazing after all. Anyway sweetie hope you have a good day today!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words Julie, it means a lot :)

I think I've decided to go a bit easy on myself with the sweets. I don't think that's a habit I can ever fully kick. Whenever I try to cut myself off I just end up failing myself spectacularly. I think what I'll do instead is "schedule in" a tiny treat every couple of days so that I can still satisfy myself but not destroy my calorie count for the day. A chocolate bar is just under 250 calories, and if I remember correctly a 16oz frozen yogurt is about the same too. Too much to have every day, for sure, but not so big they're unforgivable.

Anyways, Tuesday's food:
Breakfast: 2 slices toast (margarine and honey) - 250
Snack: lemon danish -- 350
Lunch: carrots and dip - 200
Dinner: chicken and caesar salad - 400
Total: 1200

I may end up having a small snack after work since I had to eat dinner so early.

Hey Sweetie looking good on the calories. How do you stay within range so well, im always so low or so high...LOL. Anyway darlin had to pop my head in and tell you Hello and good mornin.

usually what I do to stay within a good calorie range is have a fairly substantial breakfast to get me started, and then whatever I can find for lunch and snack (I am basically schooled on a food court mind you so its not always healthy), and then when I get back home, I do a rough tally of the day and try to plan my dinner accordingly. I aim to have around 1300 calories a day, but don't really worry unless I go over 1500. Unfortunately, I've yet to really worry about how to stay "over" a safe limit because it only takes me a couple hours to get hungry after eating.

Wednesday:
Breakfast: 2 home made mcmuffins - 500
Lunch: tortelina - 400
Snack: yogurt and granola bar - 250
Dinner: peanut butter and honey sandwich - 350
Total: 1500

Water: 2.25L = 72oz. Almost there!

I am so annoyed right now. My fish died sometime last night. I can't say I'm surprised, I've been waiting for it to happen since he's been almost manic-depressive the past few days (as in, he'd just lay at the bottom of the tank for about half an hour at a time, then start zooming all around, and then practically crash himself into the bottom again and repeat.) and he's also been looking kinda fungus-y and discoloured. I'm pretty sure I bought him with the infection though, since in hindsight they didn't treat the fish too well. This particular kind (betta) were all kept in individual plastic cups, supposedly to keep them from fighting each other, but the cups were barely big enough for them to move in, and I suspect they didn't keep the water clean either.

Anyways, the fish had a 2 week guarantee, so I'll be getting my money back today, and then buying another fish from A DIFFERENT pet store. Think I'll get a goldfish this time since they tend to be a bit hardier. Josh wants to name the next one "Captain Jonathan 'Redgill' Jones III"

Oh!! I'm so sorry Beagle... :( ... I had a fish that died this year that I had for over 5 years!!! He was my baby and I cried like a baby when he died!! I had a betta one time and didn't have any luck with it!! I think a gold fish should be alot easier to take care of.

H A P P Y
T H A N K S G I V I N G ! !

Better luck with your next fish :D Luckily you didn't have him that long. And Christina is right a gold fish is way tougher ;o)

Have a nice day ;)

Snack: Frozen yogurt cup - 250
