Be honest...how bad is my loose skin?

First of all, congratulations on your weight loss. You've made amazing progress with your loose skin problem, as well. I did just want to add something since you said you could never afford surgery... Removing loose skin resulting from weight loss is almost always covered by your health insurance. It's not so much cosmetic as it is a medical necessity if you have problems with hernias, skin irritations, rashes in your folds, etc. You've already come so far, so I'm not encouraging you to turn to surgery by any means. You've done an outstanding job all on your own, and deserve to be commended for that! But for future reference, to anyone who is concerned about the same issue, do your research on weight loss and panniculectomy. It is not the same as a "tummy tuck" but the purpose is to remove excess skin for the patient's comfort and well being. Good luck, and keep up the great work!

He's been posting about every 30 days approximately stipulating his progress. I expect, possibly, there will be a post coming soon.

Lets hope! I am eager to see the young man's progress! Buh! What loose skin, he had it in him from the very beginning.....I knew it and so did he, and ROCKS! :)

Hi mate , congrats on the weight loss , very unlucky to be left with loose skin around your stomache ,esp when the rest of your body looks tight , Is it rapid weight loss that can cause this afterall you didnt lose 300lb's , 50lbs is awsome but many do it without this problem,so mabie your skin will sklowly try to correct itself.

Im your average working class guy , wife , 2 kids and a morgage but i would consider saving up for surgery, even if it takes 5 years , it something to aim for , it might be reasoanably cheap as its only minor skin removal (although you could have all the fat sucked out for extra ABB-buffness;)) good luck fella

I know exactly what you mean with this meal plan biz....

I think you're doing great. You're young and young skin is meant to adapt to growing, so I say keep it up!:) Also congrats on the big loss.

Its been a couple of months since he posted, so I dont know if he is coming back. I have bumped the thread a few times, but he may not have been loggin in.

loose skin

thanks for those pics orange I wish I had that much skin to deal with well I found out my bmi is 39.00 so I lknow I have body fat on it . when I do sit ups I can feel some muscle tighten so I just have to lose weight and bust out the stomach. I don't like doing cruches so is there and other way of exerciseing the stomach.

How did you determine your BMI?

Yes, there are plenty of core exercises one can do.

What type of diet and fitness program have you been following?

Come back and post, as lets see if between myself and the others we can help our new friend on the forum.

Best regards as always,

Chillen

Also...those pics...they show a pretty good improvement.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but being on a rapid weight loss pattern myself (not by starving myself, just by eating properly) - I can't help but wonder - is this what happens to everyone when they lose weight quickly?

No, not everyone, doesn't happen to most people at all.

I'm starting to have a little bit, but I'm 21 and I hope a large percentage of it returns (but I do have bad skin so who knows, I have horrible keratosis pilaris and stretchmarks). My highest I believe was 235, early this year I was 200, and now I'm a little over 180. I'm 5'9" and I think I want to lose about 10 to 15 more lbs, so I'll be having some more droopy skin. If I'm not happy with it by the age of 23, I'm getting a Tummy Tuck.

dunno if this helps man but i am 6 ft 3 and was 460 lbs
and have gone down to 165 lbs and been at that for about a year now
and had alot of lose skin everywhere
i dont have a whole lot now maybe just a little less than what you have posted in your pics and only on my gut everything eles went back to normal
i used every type of oil and cream on the market with little results the key for me was to target body fat over weight
i was sitting at 210 lbs forever it seemed and couldnt figure out why i stopped loseing weight and over time the lose skin wasnt correcting itself
but when i switched my focus to body fat percentage it was amaizing how fast everything tightend up
i went from around 30% body fat down to 5.9% where im sitting right now lol
but the trick did seem to be single digit body fat

Wow. Your progress is very impressive i hope your stomach tightens up too your liking. But dont forget, if you were to go too a beach think of how you would have felt had you still been obease? Id take loose skin any day over an overweight figure. And also, when at the beach the thing (imo) that matters the most is confidence. When you believe in yourself and you are able too communicate that too others, thats truly maginificent. I wish you the best of luck and hope too see the 4-5 month results!

i have the same exact issue you have OP, i mean in the way the skin is shaped around the belly buttom and all.

So i was wondering if you can please help me on how you are dealing with this issue

Thanks

PS. i was at 330 pounds, and i am now at 172 pounds. I lost the weight over a 2 year period, but didnt do much exercise to be honest. I joined a gym and would like to build my body, so any help you can give me is appreciated

Thanks again
