So I've been lurking around for a few months and it's time to start a journal.

Background-- I'm a male 32 6'0 tall 238 pounds (2 months ago 258) been cutting for 2 months all lifts stalling. Been doing bill Starrs 5x5 and love it.

Goals-- Cut weight to 210 and keep the strength gains I've made in the past 6 months.

So Tuesday is my heavy day
Squats 5x5 to a heavy set of 295 no problem

Bench 5x5 to a heavy set of 220 failed on last rep

row 5x5 heavy set 205 no problem

Finished the day with 2250 cal.

I feel better look better but my upper body lifts are stalling :(

No weight training off day.

Weight is still at 238.0 thats a half pound less than 2 days ago!!

1,900 cal. today

Light squat day

Squat 5x5 to 220 - easy light day

over head press 5x5 to 160 - last set hard

dead lift 5x5 to 295 - last rep last set hard

cal. intahe 2350 (50 over) :(

The diet is the "thunder" of ones goal quest. And, watching, looking, listening, and then adapting to bodily feedback, while one weight trains is the "lightening" in which assists to make it happen.

Most know on the forum how I feel about one's diet, and you are correct, diet IS important.......

Today is move up in weight day per bill Starr's 5X5 plan

Squat 5 sets heavy 4th set of 300x3 - felt great today I could have done 2 or 3 more reps.

bench 5 sets heavy 4th set of 225x3 (failed the 220 last set 4 days ago) felt great today again could have done 2 more reps!! I think this stall is breaking!!:)

row 5 sets heavy 4th set 205x3 - easy did 5 reps on heavy set.


all in all feel great had a great lifting day:)



I'll weigh in on Monday!!

How do you have your workouts constructed?

How do you have your circumference of your meals during the day?

Do you do a pre and post workout meal?

How do you have your workouts constructed? Full body 3x per week ( Tues. thr. sat) Squat 3x times per week, bench 2x per week, row 2x per week , over head press and dead lift 1 x per week. Saturday weight goes up (I use a spread sheet program) bill Starr's 5x5

How do you have your circumference of your meals during the day? I don't plan anything I just chart calories in try to eat as much protein as possible. Wen I started weight training I ate what I wanted wen I wanted (close to 5000 calories a day) gained lots of weight

Do you do a pre and post workout meal?I eat pre workout only about 1 hour before

Today I have to try and get my heavy triple to a heavy x5

Squat 5x5 to 300 - last rep very hard got it

bench 5x5 225 - failed last rep

row 5x5 205 - got it easy

So I'm still going to move up the bench until I can't do a heavy triple. Progress is very slow now but going up is better than down. It's a slow go during a cut in weight, will weigh in on Monday.

push press 5x5 heavy 165 - last rep last set hard got it

Dead lift 5x5 heavy 300 - last rep last set hard got it

Heavy day work up to x3

Squat work up to 310x3 - could have done 5

bench up to 230x3 - last rep hard (don't think I'll make x5 on Tues.)

row up to 210x3 - did x5 with 210

Getting back to were I was at 258 pounds:jump1:

I guess I'm feeling strong again because my weight loss have stopped. Need to count every calorie. My body seems to like this weight a little to much.

Beach 5x5 heavy set of 230 - lat set failed at rep 4

Row 5x5 heavy set of 210 - got it last rep last set hard

going to go with heavy triples until I fail, weighed in now at 235.5:jump1:
