Anyone running 1/2 or full marathons this spring?

yeh I'm running a half marathon(13.1) Sunday week in Connemara in Galway, Ireland.

Ran 13.6 last night to stretch it out, 1:47:19......I really want to beat 1:40 on the day....going to need to get that bit quicker

how did this run go for you? Shaving 3 minutes on a 13.1 is alot. I call it 3 minutes because you ran an extra 1/2 mile on that test run you did.

Picked up a 1:38:47....absolutely delighted with it!

I got a few photos of me pumping my fist at the finish line(dont really remember doing it)...much to the amusement of my friends! Great day weather-wise, and the crowd really got the spirits up...Cant beat that finishing feeling:)

I'm planning to try one out this August.

I have a 5K Run-Swim-Run this July 19th. Then August 31st, there is a 13.1 miles run I think I might want to try. I'm not planning to run the whole way and I'm sort of thinking I'll probably have to walk a bit. So basically, I'll be happy if I can just complete it.

New to the forum, but I've read some of the postings in the past.

I've run a few 1/2 and full marathons before, and planning on running Dexter-A2 in June. I always find that 20-30 miles per week is a nice lead-in, with one longer week (usually because of a 10-12 mile weekend run) just before the race. 1/2 marathons are usually not that bad to train for because by the time the pain really starts to hit, you are only a few miles from the finish and the adrenaline will carry you through.

Running my first 1/2 marathon (if not full) in August...its not spring, but it will be my first! I have also been visiting this women's running sit and I love it...I am tracking my miles (progress) and get to network with like-minded women runners:

Best Wishes to everyone!!
