Cohen's Lifestyle Anyone from Singapore?

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
hiya all!!! any Cohenites from SG still active here?? :D

another fellow S'porean cohenite-to-be reporting here. going for my first appt tomorrow, tue, 19/7/07! hope to acheive a decent wt loss through this programme like some of you here :)

actually i've done atkins and low carb diets, and after reading through the posts here, it seems like this is also a carb restricted diet... my BIG question is, what do you eat for breakfast?

apart from the occasional macs and western buffets, i normally take traditional local brekkies, what do you all take for bfast to survive in this diet? i found it hard to find enough bfast choices while doing atkins and low carb, i predict it might be the same for this diet?

breakfast is very important to me and it's normally my heaviest meal... any good local choices? :)

Did they actually ask you to come in ? I've been on the program for 4 months now and they have never asked me to come back in to the clinic.

no no, i meant it's my very first appt with the clinic, never been there before, have not even started on the programme.

but i understand one would need to go back to the clinic after 4 weeks for a review.

Im on the programme for 6 weeks and this is week 7. Have lost 8.4kg so far, somehow the weight loss seem slow beginning of month 2.......funny thing is the last time i weight was 57.4kg, but somehow gain 0.2kg yesterday.....i didn't deviate at all....so was wondering how come like this.

My lowest range is 52kg, max is 55kg. so im 0.6kg away from my refeeding programme. I was aiming to start refeeding when i reach 55kg, but i dunno hw long can i endure. moreover, the weight loss already slown down

Hi BabyJo, nice to hear from a fellow Singaporean! :jump:

could it be that you are reaching the time of the month? and also, to begin with, you do not have that much weight to lose... i believe the lighter you are, the fewer kgs you would lose weekly or monthly compared to those who are over 100 kgs? and also reaching plateau in weight loss is a pretty common thing, just hang in there and you should be able to see the results when you persevere. if not, how about adding some light exercise from this point since you are so close to refeed? *envy*

you are doing so well, have a pat on your shoulders and all the best! :)

Hi, it's encouraging to hear from a fellow Singaporean mate. Yes, Im close for that monthly thingy......so was wondering is it due to that.....so far never deviate at all BUT will need to break fast due to my trip coming in 2 weeks time. Compulsory by my company....teambuilding which involves some exercise activities......sigh......Consultant did tell me that if we deviate, weight loss will slow dwn by 1 week......I miss all the food....so dun intend to continue for another month.......

You are doing great, Babyjo. Oftentimes your weight may not move for a few days and then suddenly it will drop 1 kg overnight. Dont really know the reason. Perhaps some hard to dislodge fat to get rid off :)
You do realise that you can still lose weight during the refeed despite the mountainous amount of food you seem to get to eat :) Anyway, you are nearly there so go, go, go.

Thanks for the encouragement Fatbuster. Btw, hw long is the refeeding? What kind of food can we eat? since u mention tons of food can be eaten and yet still lose wt. The consultant did tell me that some ppl still lost 2kg during the refeeding, some won't. So those who are worried will want to drop 2 kg further before refeeding. GOOD NEWS. I hit the refeeding wt and lower than that. Im weighing 56.6kg now. I knw we are nt suppose to weigh so often but Can't help it....

Babyjo, well done for reaching the target range! The refeeding time varies. Some only have 14 - 18 days, others longer. My guess is that yours will only be 18 days max because of your loss but you may actually finish the whole refeeding exercise earlier. You will gradually increase the amount of extra food during the course of the refeed. You get to eat bread very soon into the refeed and later, rice, pasta or whatever carbo on your list!! :jump: If you are a rice person, I am afraid the portion is going to be small but you will enjoy every grain of it. The same with pasta. Dont put them all in one mouthful. :rotflmao:
By the time you go on your company outing, you'll be slim and trim :jump:

Hi Fatbuster, Im aiming to drop to 54-55 before the refeeding. however, I will be deviating for 2 days during the trip before i reach my own target set weight. That's the reason Im abit worried.......bcos will slow dwn my wt loss. I was thking shld i proceed the refeeding before the trip or deviate for 2 days then continue the diet till i reach my own goal

BJ, learn to control the diet and not the other way round. Otherwise instead of being slim and trim after refeed, you may be stressed and bald. :rotflmao: Why? because most likely you will put on weight as you get closer to the end and you will be tearing your hair out everytime the scale goes up 0.5 kg.

Anyway, I reckon you will be 55kg within 5 days :) so if you wait until after the outing before you start your refeed, you may be a rake by then. Just kidding.

Why dont you ask for your refeed, understand what is involved then decide? There are a lot of addditions, subtractions, new foods, new fruits etc. it can be intimidating when you first study it but it's ok. Really.

If you are sensible in what you eat from hereon, I dont think the 2 days deviation will matter much. The scale may not even move when you return.

So dont be stressed!

Hai...finally deviate on saturday nite....went eating bak kut teh and snack on some junks.....last nite also deviated due to wedding dinner. Can't possibly ask me dun eat and sit there rite.....and of cos put on some wt back but call consultant and she told me dun weigh myself till end of week 8. Instructed to go for refeeding soon, as my body showing signal that i need refeeding....so after deviation have to go bk the diet for 100%.....

Btw, Im actually due for menses but somehow rather it's late....normally it's very accurate every month. Tested on strip, negative result meaning im nt pregnant. Could it be the diet that affected my menses???????

.....last nite also deviated due to wedding dinner. Can't possibly ask me dun eat and sit there rite.....

I managed to do it twice. Maybe I'm lucky I don't like Sea Cucumber or Sharks Fin soup.

It is tough sometimes, very tough. But to complete the programme and to achieve your goals in the shortest possible time, you need to be a lot tougher mentally than any deviations are.

You mean u deviated? or managed nt to eat anything n juz sit there? Anyway, im collecting my refeeding tomorrow. Consultant already told me dun push myself too hard as my body is realli showing signal that i nd to be refeed. This is becos I felt more hungry and tired than usual.

I managed to sit there and not eat. Ate before I went. During the courses, I would go for a walk outside or to other tables that had finished/hadn't been served and socialised.

Got my refeeding plan yesterday....wah....19 days. I got the max refeeding day. Will be doing it after my Bintan trip. Consultant told me have to stick to this 100% and mention that dun push ourselves to much. our body is very intellegent. when u start to feel mre hungry n tired, it a sign that your body need refeeding already. She told me some client wt range is 55 but insist to go on 50, in the end notice they can't take it and end up snacking on junk. As such, is best to listen to your body command. If u start to crave on more food, it's time

Hii all!! i am thinking of joining the cohen program...just can't make up my mind. so many ppl are confusing me..saying losing weight like this is not healthy etc. For those who have lost it/losing it...did you experience any loose skin?

Hi BabyJo...hows ur refeeding program coming along?? Hope it is going well for you.

Hi Soul84, i'm excited to see another S'porean cohenite-2-b on board! :jump:

so far i've lost about 10kgs within 6 weeks, quite pleased with the results tho slow down alot lately... can still see some loss on a weekly basis. so far i have not seen loose skin yet *keeping my fingers crossed*

being a worry wort by nature, i'm kia-su. i have signed up for intensive facial package that includes face lifting treatments. i've also been using face-lifting creams & essence for daily maintanence. so far my beautician observed that my fast wt loss has not affected my skin texture, hope it will stay that way :)

as for body i intend to buy slimming/toning body lotion and when i reach 62kg, i intend to sign up aqua-aerobics and go swimming till i reach goal wt :)

Hi Tuberose,

Nice to hear from a fellow singaporean too. and i am also kiasu type.
Hehe.. i think thats what makes us singaporeans. I am glad to hear that you are doing well on the program.

Don't worry about the slow down of the fatloss...its normal. The consultant told me that the fat loss slows down when you are nearing your goal weight. Don't let this get you down ok:)

btw, i think u should check with the consultant before taking up any exercise.
if they say its ok, then go ahead. because i remember her telling me that if you start exercising it will alter your weightloss program or something like that.

so best to ask them first.

God bless you.:jump:
